VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Let's look on the bright side of things. The White Sox are doing as badly as the Twins with a payroll that is almost $50 million higher than the Twins and the Angels are even worse with a lineup that has Pujols, Trout, Hamilton, and Weaver with a payroll of $65+ million more.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 So the Mets sweep? What has money got to do with it?
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Shine on you crazy Diamond, and get us a W. Let's go back to that thing where we were losing the first game of the series and winning the last two. I liked that better.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Ten games in the offense has been poor--the defense poor and the pitching more often poor than good. The Twins are lucky they have won four games. It will get better, but the club may be out of it before it does.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I'm hoping for a strong six innings from Diamond. I hope he's ready for both the Mets and the elements.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Diamond gave up 4 runs in 5 innings in his last rehab start in Ft. Meyers, but I am hoping that this is because he was experimenting a lot and getting kinks worked out.

Please explain how that's supposed to make anyone--other than the Pohlad Brothers--feel any better.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Scoreless first for Diamond.

I hear where you're coming from. Still, just because they have more pain than we do, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

Exhibit B--Kevin Correia.

I think the hope was that his rough start wasn't because he hadn't fully recovered or gotten back in synch from his injury.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Diamond looking decent so far.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Who are they being no-hit by? oh, okay, it's Harvey. That I can handle.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 4 scoreless for Daimond. Can we please get one of our pitchers some runs?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I am thrilled that Diamond is healthy and pitching well today. He can make a big difference if he can stay healthy.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Solo Shot... tis but a scratch.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Contact... Good to have Diamond back, even if it will be hard to walk the low-K, sub 4 era tightrope again. Good start on that today even with the solo moon shot.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 You had to say that "out loud", didn't you? OOPS -sorry -- I will shut up about that.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Plouffe!!!!! You're killing me - just killing me!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 OOPS -sorry -- I will shut up about that. Glunn... You Jinxed us. Look what happened... You and your 72 degrees all the time.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 *sigh* another game where the bullpen needs to get more outs than the starter.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 *sigh* another game where the bullpen needs to get more outs than the starter. No worries, even after today the starters will still hold a 5-ish inning per game vs 4 IP pergame edge over the pen in IP. > 50% is good, right?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Well, many of us were wondering how long it would take for this team to start playing unwatchable baseball. I guess we're at that point.
