Irishman Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Schoop, Grossman and Baddoo are killing the Twins! They are ex-twin players. They must have grudges against Twins for letting them go.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 The Twins are impressively bad at these 7 inning double header. 1-6 so far, and they have scored 4 runs combined in the 6 losses.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 So Barnes goes 4.2 and gives up 1 in his first career start... and Maeda has already given up 3 by the 2nd inning. Maeda has been beyond disappointing... and I would be open to giving Barnes more chances, even if he looked only decent against a middling lineup. I can't get upset losing to the Tigers after sweeping them in a 4 game series, but they could really start a calamitous fall if they fail to get things done this weekend and then get pounded to dust by the White Sox in another 4 game series.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Author Posted July 17, 2021 Meh, i am in my comfort zone, with an uphill battle... Donaldson!!!! Bats himself in.
Irishman Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Tigers must have found the weakness in high socking Maeda wears.

He went from being 7 or 8 on the OF depth earning peanuts to being on MLB roster making MLB minimum with all the benefits of being in the majors.
Linus Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Corey and Dan are talking about Caves return. If he takes any ABs from Larnach or Kiriloff I will have a stroke.

I think he will probably take Celestino's and Gordon's OF ABs, but I think he will certainly be behind Kirilloff and Larnach in the pecking order.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Author Posted July 17, 2021 5th inning stretch....
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Donaldson is the last guy you want up in RISP situations... his OPS drops by over 200 points and he simply chokes when we need him to come through. ?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2021 Author Posted July 17, 2021 5th inning stretch... Not sure i'd heared that before. If i tell Kirlloff to start off a big rally now, will that be early enough he'll hear?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Author Posted July 18, 2021 Our turn again. In play, run(s) please!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Author Posted July 18, 2021 Oh well. I am used to not being heard.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 I'd rather have Cruz at the plate than on first with no outs and a double play now in play.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Admit it. Everyone was shocked as hell the Twins scored a run there.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Freebie there. Baddoo was right. Maeda "walk" in the second was a strike, and touched the zone, and he didn't get the call, and there would have been three outs and Baddoo never would have come to the plate. Two close wrong calls have totally affected the game tonight. Until Rogers can't come through anyway.

RpR Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Rogers seems to have forgotten where the strike zone is.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Nothing like a 5 day break to cool off the short spurt against the Tigers before the break.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Yep, that’s a 2021 Twins way to end it. Looosah
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Was Gordon playing next to the fence? Showing obvious signs of inexperience not calling off Simmons.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Author Posted July 18, 2021 Sigh. I thinki will be rolling over and going back to sleep. Thanks all for partaking of the game thread.
