Absolute nonsense AL pitchers are still required to hit during interleague

I think it was 25 years ago already when Bob Costas’ “Fair Ball” came out. One of the things he suggested was switching Houston to the AL and always having at least one interleague matchup. Which, of course has happened.

The relevance to this post was that he made the somewhat out of LF proposal that they play by visitor rules for interleague. To give the hometown fans a chance to see the “other” league’s way of playing.

Should Rocco have a pitcher up  ???  i would

I don't see why, he's at 50+ pitches and has only given up a single unearned run.

It’s too bad Perez just “hit”. I don’t think he gets out of the 4th.

Perez has given up two inexcusable walks but has pitched well otherwise.  He's induced three choppers form the likely NL MVP.

Sorry. I already looked into this, and the best they can promise is cubic zirconia.

In my need to kill the joke, I must mention that there isn't enough zircon in your body for that.

Better lucky than good. Baldelli better be ready with the hook next inning. Perez has gotten two swinging strikes. Both by Pina. He didn’t even get swings and misses from the opposing pitcher.

F-ugly.

I have a hard time calling 8 baserunners in 4 IP with 2 swinging strikes pitching “well”. I call it “living dangerously”.

There's no movement on the fastball, the little bit I've been watching. Unless a pitcher's got a lot else going for him, it's hard to forecast success with that to build on.

With the stuff Perez showed in this game, he would not even last an inning against powerful Yankees or Astros in a playoff game.
