Well...lead down to three. Offense is in a skin, and the pitching has been okay. Defense has been subpar, and the Indians are playing a bunch of AAAA teams. Perfect storm. I still have faith in this team.

Have a fantastic saturday all, and come celebrate a Twins win tomorrow night.

I’m not buying the sentiment going around that Indians are streaking only because they’re playing bad teams, and that’s why they’ve caught the Twins.

We just got swept by the Mets. Won’t be surprised if we lose the final two of this one (our bullpen outside of Rogers is killing us right now). The Indians are good. But, they’re catching us because we’re allowing them to.

It’s really coming down to the inaction of the front office. If they would’ve brought in some bullpen help in the offseason, who knows what the lead be right now (they’ve let 3 get away just this week - May two of them). If they would’ve brought in one or two serviceable relieves a few weeks ago, same story.

I’m preparing myself to miss the playoffs altogether. It’s a forgone conclusion.

Gotta take care of your own business. Can’t get swept by the Mets, can’t lose a series to the White Sox, can’t split with the royals. Not gonna win em all, but 1-3 to start this 9 gamer. Yeesh not good

Last time the Indians played a team over .500, they went 1-2.

Missing the playoffs? Might happen. Forgone conclusion? That's funny.

Well, you can't win em' all. Unless you're Cleveland, of course. This season kind of reminds me of the Spongebob cartoon.

"Cleveland wins."

"25 games later."

"Cleveland wins."

"30 years later."

"Cleveland wins."

At this point, I am not even worried about Cleveland. Any team that NEVER LOSES A GAME is nothing to be worried about. It's just totally unreasonable what they have accomplished. It really looks like we could win 95 games and still win the wild card.

Deadpool would probably get a talking to by the TD moderators. Hint hint.

But I had the same thought when looking at Liam. He's just... bigger now.

I think Bremer was also implying as much during the broadcast. “You can’t tell me they’d DFA a guy throwing 100 mere months so and every team passed on him,” etc.

Honestly, there is no way I can rationalize that as legit. You don’t just throws 100 mph rocketfuel with precision command overnight at the age of 30.

I would remind all of you that Detroit, KC, and Cincinnati are STILL Major League clubs and for Cleveland to annihilate them without losing a single game? You just can't counter that no matter what you do.

I didn’t realize just how bad Detroit has been. 29-64 (.312). Can’t imagine gardy is long for this world

Twins record vs Royals, 6-3

Indians record vs Royals 5-4.

Indians went 1-4 in their last series vs the White Sox, they lost their series against the O's at the end of June.

A bit of recency bias in your evaluation here. They're hot, the Twins are not, neither will remain constant.

Yes, but people talk as if the Indians are playing different teams than we have. It’s a bit unbalanced with the inter league stuff, but by and large it all evens out and they may pass us soon

bullet points

* If the games were 5 innings long this team would have a better chance of winning.

* If Cleveland would just lose some games to those other teams, that would really help.

* If the catchers would catch all the catchable balls, that would really help too.

* Liam Hendriks looks like a Norse God.

When the Tigers hired Gardenhire I said immediately, "Well, we won't have to worry about the Tigers for the next 10 years, that's for sure." I kid you not, guys, I said that. I knew back in 2003 or 2004 that Gardenhire was a terrible manager. I can only dream of how many championships we MAY have won with a different manager during those golden years, (2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010). Think about it fellas. How many?

I take the blame for this loss.

I took an early nap after aaking about sandwiches...

I am still wondering if the pbj&b was 1 or 2 sandwiches.

I am glad we also brought corn dogs and cookies up, even given the awkwardness.

I missed my 10,000th post. ****

I guess i missed it too.

But folk celebrate their b-day or anniversary (a-day?) at convenience, like the nearest weekend.

I'd pester Riverbrian for an inspiring theme for said post.

But like Walter, i may be living in the past there...

I am not sure that playing golf and bowling with a guaranteed contract in your back pocket is the equivalent to "leaving this world"! :)

Well, I'll be having tacos for dinner tonight.....like it or not.

Day late and a dollar short: Tacos to tonight at Che Blake. Irony for the win!

I don't understand why there hasn't been any real effort to help this bullpen. It's so blindingly obvious, this bullpen just is not up to the task of winning a pennant. It never was, and almost certainly won't be.

The Pohlad Way.
