sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Let your hair down Game Thread. So duck and don't get hit by the falling hair. I bring up the duck cause it already has down hair... Well maybe they are feathers, not being a mammal, but it serves a similar purpose. How do you keep interested in these games, serving similar purposes to the last bit of a penant race? TwinsChase De Jong ( R) 1. Joe Mauer (L) 1B2. Jorge Polanco (S) SS3. Jake Cave (L) CF4. Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Lively bunch here tonight...Must be exhausted from all the winning...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 How do you keep interestedbecause it's late September, and it's sad to think there won't be good Twins baseball again until next Spring spring of 2020 at the earliest?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Or, because this could be Mauer's swan song?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 To prepare us for the inevitable Vikings meltdown?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Mauer comes through with a sac fly for a lead! Yeah, winning really takes it out of ya...
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 They just listed all the injury casualties to the A’s rotation this year - amazing. And yet they keep winning...hmmm.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Or, because this could be Mauer's swan song?Mauer has a swan? Cool! And thanks for the effort to follow the theme of the intro!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 They just listed all the injury casualties to the A’s rotation this year - amazing. And yet they keep winning...hmmm.I don't get how the A's and Rays keep winning games. It just doesn't seem to matter what player they trot out there, they just succeed. To me it feels the opposite... no matter who we trot out, we just aren't any good.
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 To prepare us for the inevitable Vikings meltdown?Vegas has the Vikes at -16.5. Could be the kiss of death lol
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Vegas has the Vikes at -16.5. Could be the kiss of death lolI was thinking January-type meltdown, but yours would work too
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Anyone watching? How is De Jong looking?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Mauer has a swan? Ha, that looks so much like one of those sentences where all the letters were rearranged to make something new, so I rearranged the letters back to their original order: A man was a usher. Is that what you meant?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Vegas has the Vikes at -16.5. Could be the kiss of death lolThat is more than 2 touch downs. And they are favored? They must be good, or something.

Is that what you meant? Could be... Ushering is a useful job. But i also figured swan song would lack authenticity sans swan...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Anyone watching? How is De Jong looking? He looks pretty darn good thus far. 4 scoreless innings against a playoff team is impressive. Might just have a future as a long reliever.
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That is more than 2 touch downs. And they are favored? They must be good, or something.Or the Bills or really bad lol. Actually the Vikes are pretty good. But likely just good enough to crush us fans in January as HBD eluded to above. SMH
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 One of these years!!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Well, there goes De Jong. That didn't take much, but at least we get to see some more of Vasquez.
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Well a little of Vasquez smh
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 How are we going to evaluate Vasquez if he's only allowed to face 1 hitter per game and then take a 2 game break?
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Yes - the Drake! Our bullpen is generally bad as a whole, but I actually like the Drake.
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 How are we going to evaluate Vasquez if he's only allowed to face 1 hitter per game and then take a 2 game break?Yeah for sure. Molly has trust issues when it comes to bullpen usage.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Adrianza was bailed out by a bad throw because he would have been out at home for the 5th time or so this season. Gene Glynn has no feel for Adrianza's speed.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Stu calmly ties the game with that compact, quick stroke, and on the first pitch of course, because why stand there any longer than you need to? If Astudillo The Player finishes the season being even close to as good as Astudillo The Story, then he's probably my favorite bright spot in a season that's been woefully short of them.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Adrianza was bailed out by a bad throw because he would have been out at home for the 5th time or so this season. Gene Glynn has no feel for Adrianza's speed. Yeah, there's 'aggressive', and there's 'Oh, crap, my bad Ehire, you're gonna be ou...' "SAFE! SafeSafeSafe! I knew it!"
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 And Polanco is yet another out on the bases...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Here comes Tyler Duffey in a tie game with 2 guys on base and no outs. What could possibly go wrong?!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Not saying Polanco is THE answer at short, but on that nice two-out pick and throw to preserve the tie, he was at least AN answer.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
