Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Here comes Tyler Duffey in a tie game with 2 guys on base and no outs. What could possibly go wrong?!Another walk-off in a subsequent inning?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 The Twins are getting dangerously close to being walked-off again... The 10 walk-off losses by homer for the #MNTwins is an all-time record, according to @sfgwire. The 2010 St. Louis Cardinals set the previous record w/ 8.Twins would have to lose their final 2 road games with walk-offs to tie all-time mark for most walk-off losses in a season. I have a bad feeling about this.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 C'mon, let's preserve that tie and take it to extras! If i have a formal restaurant, i'll call it extra innings...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Wait, didn't we learn our lesson on loading the bases with an intentional walk in a tie game in the 9th inning with Hildy pitching? You're walking Joyce?!
tvagle Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Not saying Polanco is THE answer at short, but on that nice two-out pick and throw to preserve the tie, he was at least AN answer. And in the 9th shows the other side of AN answer...ish

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Walked off yet again... but I guess the intentional walk didn't matter in the end. Bleck. I almost want them to tie with the walk-off record in tomorrow's game.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 I'm thinking HIldy isn't the answer for the closer job and Polanco isn't the answer at short.
Borealis Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Well at least we’re getting creative with our walk-offs!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Of course that's how it ends #TrusttheProcess#Falvey#SustainableChampionships
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 And in the 9th shows the other side of AN answer...ish Shirley, you're joking It was meant to be as much a criticism of the hole the Twins have dug for themselves at SS as a compliment to Polanco. He'd be a better overall utility infielder than other guys they've lived with over the years, and less of a Roland Emmerich disaster movie as a stopgap everyday player than sometimes projected. And I probably wouldn't even have commented on the play, let alone the player, if the Twins FO's plan at that position were anything more than waiting for Royce Lewis to rise out of the organizational pumpkin patch and deliver shortstop sweetness to all the good kids who believe.
David HK Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Haven't spent much time here, as I care less and less as this season winds down, but still-- Twinks and TD, I just can't quit you! Focused on the Cubbies now, (9 years spent just off LSD in Wrigleyville), so after that game, checked on the hometown team. Proud of the way the boys have battled the contenders lately, but this loss today... All I can say is, "Twins Way ™"

David HK Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 How are we going to evaluate Vasquez if he's only allowed to face 1 hitter per game and then take a 2 game break?M. O. Y.

Congrats on the 9 years off LSD...is the quality that much better or worse in Wrigleyville? (asking for a friend)
