JaleelWhite FanClub Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I really like Felix Jorge. I was thinking that it's too bad we can't have two of him running up through the organization. Instead of scanning through the Minors to find a comp, all I had to do was open up last night's Lookouts box score to find a Jorge clone. Jorge 2016 (age-22)21 GS, 10-6 (W-L), 2.57 ERA, 136.1 IP, 122 H, 42 R (39 ER), 8 HR, 20 BB, 99 K, .241 AVG, 1.04 WHIP Pitcher X, 2016 (age-22)23 GS, 6-9 (W-L), 2.84 ERA, 133.1 IP, 123 H, 50 R (42 ER), 8 HR, 35 BB, 107 K, .246 AVG, 1.19 WHIP And Pitcher X just happens to be our old friend Chih-Wei Hu. Without digging up the horror that last year's trade has become, it's amazing to see just how similar these two are. Hu's been in AA all year, so Jorge's slight advantage I think comes from the fact 2/3 of his starts were in High-A ball. Hu also had a start in AAA that hurt his overall stats. While both Hu and Jorge will never be a Top-50 (or even probably a Top-100), they are intriguing players with playable strengths (low BB & HR rates, limits runs, consistent, durable). It'll be fun to see where they wind up in their careers. Too bad both aren't still here.
