BoomBoom Provisional Member Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I was thinking of how the Twins could score every game and I thought of a MONSTER MASH line up. First we would have to make a trade or 2 to align the pieces correctly: Trade (1) : Milone and Nolasco and Escobar for Javier Baez (SS) and Corey Black (P). Even if you have to eat some contract money. Trade (2): ________ & _______ for Javier Baez (SS) / Cubs The move clears the way for Rogers or Berrios or Free Agent sign 1) Buxton (10 HRS)2) Mauer (6 HRS)3) Dozier (25 HRS)4) Sano (35 HRS)5) Plouffe (27 HRS)6) Park (30 HRS)7) Baez (30 HRS)8) Rosario (20 HRS)9) Murphy / Suzuki (7 HRS) That's 190 HRS not counting non starter HRS. (Arcia / Nunez / etc.) Lots of K's but guaranteed to score at least one run per game. Who likes it and who doesn't? Cubs are shipping Baez, so why not get younger and more powerful in the lineup.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'm not sure why the Cubs would trade Baez for those three guys, Nolasco has extreme negative value, you can find a dozen guys like Milone on the FA market and Escobar is a "nice" player but no where near the value that Baez will bring. If you want to target Baez (not a bad thing) then you have to give up real assets.
