Well, that was a crappy way to kill the streak.  The near misses by Mauer and Suzuki and the absolute robbery of Sano really made this game closer.  But the glaring issue with this game is the fact that a starter still couldn't get it done.  Amazing they were able to win 6 in a row without a shutdown effort out of any starting pitcher.  Someone needs to reverse that trend pronto.

 

Go home, get 2 out of 3 from the 'stros and let's keep this train rolling.

1. Milone- another poor start. Shouldn't be in the rotation any more, bring up Berrios.

 

2. hunter: 0 for 4 and a brutal double play. retire old man.

 

3. Suzuki- it's bad enough he can't throw anyone out, that passed ball was amateur.

 

4. Molitor- PH Hermann for buxton. How dumb can you be?

Buxton was just going to strikeout 5 times, didn't matter at that point, Boxberger is a pretty good pitcher.

why Hermann though? Why not Nunez? Herrmann is a very poor hitter

I didn't see his first at bat but the other three all started with 0-2 counts. They attacked him right away and he didn't swing

Very static approach coming to the plate. Opposing teams will recognize and exploit brutally.
