2014 9th round pick of the Twins. From Robbinsdale, MN. Played at Bradley University. Bats Right, Throws Right, Plays Outfield.

 

BIO

 

This is Murphy's Age 22 season, and he will be for the entirety of the season, with a November Birthday. He was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and Played college ball at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Murphy is starting 2015 in Cedar Rapids, where he saw 124 plate appearances last year, after starting his professional career in Elizabethton. The 5'11" outfielder is listed as the Kernels primary left fielder.

 

In High School, Murphy also played Football and Soccer. Honors during his collegiate career include 2nd team All-MVC, and NCAA player of the week. in 2014, MiLB.com awarded Murphy their "Organizational All-Star" designation, as well as naming him a Player of the Week, Player of the Year, and Postseason All Star for E-town.

 

Coming into the 2015 season, Murphy seemed to be on the edge of most "top-30" prospect list, with Gleeman ranking him #26, and Sickels ranking him as a "Other Grade C" (basically honorable mention) prospect, while going unranked on several other lists.

As of May 1, Max Murphy was hitting .171. In 8 games since, he has hit .412/.474/.618 (1.091) with 2-2B, 1-3B, 1-HR. Now hitting .250.

Things have totally stunted for Murphy. He has regressed considerably from his 2014 CDR stats. The .660 OPS is not promising at all.
