Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 According to Phil Mackey, the Twins and Alexi Casilla have reached a one-year agreement worth $1.38 million. Because of injuries, Casilla played in only 97 games last year and hit .260/.322/.368 with 15 stolen bases while scoring 52 runs. In doses he has proven that he is capable of holding down a starting position and it appears that he will be the team's starting second baseman at the beginning of the year.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Based on comparables, it's where he should be... if he only played more games, he could have jumped up to Emilio Bonifacio territory, but this is where he should be.
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Casilla is going to have that breakthrough year this year, I can feel it. Just like I felt it last year and in 2009. It's just a matter of time.....
TwinTalker Provisional Member Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Break out season? Maybe but it would still have him as a AAA guy on most other teams. He is on a good day only slightly below average.
