ONE pitcher? For NINE innings??

Unpossible.

Congrats to Walters! Great performance from him. Now let's see Diamond continue his good start with the big club this season and improve to 4-0

This team is gaining confidence, an effort like this after getting pasted by 14 runs the night before tells a lot about the leadership in the locker room. What an effort by Walters and that play by Casilla going deep in the hole for his pitcher was beautiful....nice grab by Morneau too.

I believe there is a rule that prevents this; one's third string catcher is required to pitch if no other reliever is willing, or something like that. The box score must be wrong.

Gawd, I'm doing the Butera meme. Must stop, must stop...

Hats off to PJ Walters!

Gotta love a complete game W on the road against a division opponent.

Key stretch of the schedule here 4 of the next 5 series in the division. No, I'm not suggesting it's realistic that the Twins will climb into the division lead.

But if we want to salvage some measure of respectability to this season, we to need to win some of these series.

Hey, what do you know... a complete game. This was the Twins most COMPLETE game of the season so far. I hope for a few more. I wonder if Ventura will dull his pain with some sifters of Vodka?

Great outing by P.J., first complete game all year for a twins SP! Justin's homer is a nice sign, he really seems to be swinging with authority since he came back.

Dominant showings by both the offense and the pitching have been extremely hard to come by this year. Usually if one is great, the other falters. It was great to see the team put it all together. Hopefully this continues.

And, he struck out the side on 9 pitches in the late innings. Best game all year, just what you want to see from a rookie pitcher after a 1st inning gopher ball. Good approach at the plate from Lexi, and Carroll. I don't expect 'em to get to .500, but you have to like the determination now. This is what Valencia and Parmalee were not giving them.

I like how often Walters changes speeds. When they guess right they put a good swing on it but it is mostly guess work. Try to name the pitch or the speed, it is always changing in the same situations. Hes going to allow a few homers. But I think even when he cools off and he will, he can still pitch in the majors. I like this kid

Work fast, throw strikes, change speeds. That's the mantra. Twins pitching has generally had the first two down, but much of the time they don't change speeds effectively. Walters was confident in doing that tonight.

Well, that didn't take too long. Could be a long night for Walters

Indeed it was, but in a good way.

I think the latest relief sensation, Son of Sal, set the tone on changing speeds for the rest of the season. (The graph representing the speed of Butera's series of pitches was hilarious and reminded me of my last road trip to the Grand Tetons).

About friggin' time someone pitches a CG not named Pavano. I knew before the game we had a better chance to win this game, given the Twins' recent dominance over the White Sox.
