The FSL vs Everybody Else

As I look at the FSL and the statistical abnormalities - I wonder how their overall numbers compare with other leagues throughout the minors. The FSL is considered the hardest league to hit either HRs or register Scored Runs per game. The highest batting average in 2013 for anyone with at least 125 games was [.289]. The highest batting average in 2012 was [.302]. This year (21014) the highest average with anyone over 95 games is [.287].

 

The FSL is considered a pitchers league, although many a hitting prospect will flourish in the first half of FSL seasons. Is it the warm weather that brings so many averages down? Is it the humid conditions that limit HRs from flying out the bigger parks like so many other leagues? Is it that the pitching just endures better than a hitters consistency? Why does the FSL have such low numbers compared to other minor league's across the country? Where else would (13) qualify for second place in HR totals at this point in the season? Those are the questions that lead me to say that the FSL is the hardest league in minor league baseball. What says you..............................
