Johnson: Mauer/Watkins more than just baseball buddies

Jeff Johnson of The Gazette in Cedar Rapids wrote about the friendship between Kernels manager Jake Mauer and hitting coach Tommy Watkins. They've coached together for the last two years, but they have been friends and teammates for a long time.

I'm with Tommy on the frogs. I don't want any kind of creepy crawly jumpy things around.

 

Thought this was a good read. It'll be fun to see how their careers (and friendship) track as they move up the ladder.
