Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 When I seen Arcia tweak his knee last night' date=' I slumped over in my chair and let out a very sad gasp... that was because I drank too much and passed out, but when I awoke, I put 2 and 2 together and realized that saddly, this is gonna sideline him for a week or two. I look at Arcia as a Bull Fighter - he has all the Gusto and Bravado one would seek in an emotionally exciting player, every time he pumps his fist after getting a timely or extra base hit, he is slaying the bull. I felt his fire and it makes me feel a little bit less engaged in tonights game.[/quote'] Well that harshed my mellow.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I kinda like this. But then I'm old and grey. Nature has many wonders, indeed.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That last picture was not necessary. I dont even want to know what you googled for that.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 It does feel like a storm is rolling in, fwiw. I don't think it's the Astros.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 what's the weather looking like? we gonna get a game in? I'm out of state and I actually have the day to sit and watch baseball.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Well that harshed my mellow. Don't worry Gibby - Kubel is his replacement. All is good.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Fever dream after Indian food? You need to get out more. Yeah, I know. As much as I try, I just cant get into it.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Hey, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla is on. That's how to kill a rain delay.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 i was expecting I wonder... Did Daughter Judy light the Pipe.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 In a way it is impressive how the game threads manage to find new diversions every night. There are some posters quite talented in finding new tangents that normal people could never dream up. A very subtle and witty comment! Tangents/Normals... I think by definition, they are perpendicular. Speakin' of which, i never followed up the exo-planet links from yesterday. Should do that while waiting for the rain... (Also gotta be some good rain jokes to be had too) Sorry i weren't posting much. It was a fine thread, and i wish i'd been involved. Sure was a wild and crazy game too. Probably woulda tried to add some pluto joke, or that they weren't exo-planets. they were pining for the fjords... (And if i'm clever enough to offer a tangent of my own, i will...)
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I wonder... Did Daughter Judy light the Pipe. I am assuming that Mary Jane is universally legal in the future, so my guess is that Judy lit the pipe, took a toke or two herself in anticipation of her father getting home, and bestowed him with his daily "welcome home" fix. Cogswell Cogs is prick - George has a hard job, he's earned it.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I have no idea what you mean by this. The video was clever but that intro voice-over had me thinking Teen Girl Squad and Strong Bad.

Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Saw the Cardinals turn a triple play so that was pretty cool. I like the voice of the Blue Jays broadcaster
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 It's ok guys, you don't have to post. I'll put you on my back and carry you through the game.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Oh look... The game started
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Good first inning by Hughes. It kinda sucks that Joe Mauer is at first for this game. I want to see Jose Altuve stand next to him, but that would require him getting to first. Would be easier if Joe was still a catcher
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Nick Burdi going for the save for Louisville on ESPNU right now

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Nick Burdi going for the save for Louisville on ESPNU right now He really opens up... His strike foot is off toward 1st. He throws hard but the Twins will have to straighten him out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Nick Burdi going for the save for Louisville on ESPNU right now No flight to Rochester was available overnight?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Never would have guessed that Keuchel would be pronounced Kike-ul.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I had 5 knee surgeries before I hit my mid 20s. Other-wise it's been a nice ride. I look forward to being an old fart.Look forward?
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Here goes Bert again: Bert Blyleven @BertBlyleven28 1mI really like Astros starter Keuchel's delivery. Like starters who go over their head with their hands to get to their balance point
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I like the voice of the Blue Jays broadcaster Do you like Vin Scully? That would be a reason to.
