ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Don't worry Gibby - Kubel is his replacement. All is good. I failed to note this before. Why not Colabello, against the lefty?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Also, all of those happened before I was born . Oh, you're being given slack. When you're older, you'll know to read between the lines.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Were you born old, or just curmudgeonly? You are way too young to make many of the statements you make with regularity Don't get down on Tibs. He's still steamed at McKinley about that whole Teapot Dome kerfuffle. I mean Harding. hehehe
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 He did indeed... I remember that... He also announced the loss of Bambi's mother. That a little known nugget. Although I was 5 years old, I remember the day John Lennon was murdered. My parents, were in there early 20's and were weepy, shocked and mourning. It seemed like everyone was depressed for a bit after that happened. That was a crummy time in Western Culture History. I was also sad for Bambi when her mother died - I tipped her extra for her couch dance.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 I believe he was the one that was screaming, "Oh the humanity," when LT snapped Theisman's tibia/fibula like a twig. Even the Twigs went "Oh Man" and turned away.
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Were you born old, or just curmudgeonly? You are way too young to make many of the statements you make with regularityI definitely wouldn't describe myself as curmudgeonly. I'm not sure what I say that makes me seem old lol

Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I wonder if Kevin gorg is from the gorg's of 20,000 b.c. France.

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I would have loved game threads as a kid. I would have as well -- but the screen refresh time would have been slow on the Apple IIE or the Commadore -- and the connection would have been dial-up -- meaning a rotary phone.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Might be the first time I've seen those names And yet you know Hingle McCringleberry, I am guessing.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I would have loved game threads as a kid. We had them then. They were called "games".

I had an electric football game that would screw up reception on the Magnavox console.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Talking about baseball and random things are two of my favorite things. The game thread is like going to the ball park with my buddies, only not paying for $9 beers or tickets, and way better network than 4G in a ballpark full of people doing something other than following the game
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 We had them then. They were called "games". I mean if I were a shut-in at age 9.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I had an electric football game that would screw up reception on the Magnavox console. And vice versa.
