I'm a bit fed up with Mauer. Tired of hearing "he'll be fine" and "he'll get his." He's a go-zillionaire and he is not driving in runs. Get your tail in gear! Tired of hearing "keep your approach the same" and all that baloney. Drive in some runs and make a difference. I would trade him but know one would take his contract. Frustrated.....

 

I've watched Joe from HS til now. Aside from high school, I rarely see anyone on base when Joe is up.

Honestly... It's a tough job with a unique skill.

 

It's tough to talk for three hours. It's a slow game and the action is primarily routine. You are almost guaranteed to say something pointless and repeat phrases.

You will never see a better example of how much skill a pro baseball commentator has until you watch a Twins game and a college TV station back to back. My alma mater SCSU has a very well respected broadcasting program. Sven was as good as it got on the college TV station. He took a big jump when he went pro. Most of the programming was absolutely painful, but we watched... With alcohol in abundance

I appreciated that he bent his knees when he jumped, so as to make the jump look higher than it was.

Thanks, for real. Whatever sense of humor might be in my possession is the gift of two parents who were kind of like Carson and McMahon. Then there's my Nick Punto funny work ethic, sliding hard into first to be the first to jab at pitch-to-contact. With a .gif. Game thread is my PED, but trying to cut back. A friend recently told me that my throat area is starting to look like Mcguire's.

I suffer from some pretty bad depression at times, and funny people are like a gift from God...not unlike hanging breaking balls.

Baseball announcers who have difficulty going three plus hours trying to find things to say fill the time really should just come to this board to find good examples of statements with weight and substantive meaning and some deep insight.
