So the .306 is his OBP? What's his average in that span just out of curiosity?

.250, but as it usually does Average only tells a small part of the story.

Justin Morneau's May OPS+: 156

Justin Morneau's June OPS+: 77

Like Mr. Lennon said: he is, quite literally, not half the man he used to be.

Wrong guy. That's a McCartney line.

D'oh, you're right. I thought Lennon wrote it (it is credited Lennon-McCartney) but after a quick search, wiki says that McCartney was the sole author.

It seems your troubles are so far away but I'm sorry. Scott Weiland was the writer of those words. He just said them a little creepier and he omitted the word "not.

It was John Lennon who said "He got joo joo eyeball".

Paul McCartney said "the butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie".

I don't have any stats but I'm enjoying the thread... Carry On...

Riverbrian - as usual This gave me a good laugh!

Or at least for those not familiar with this thread, maybe it would be a chance to see how it worked over there. I think it will die tomorrow when RP pulls the ventilator plug.

Plouffe's SLG% over the last 3 weeks (.788) is higher than the OPS of anyone on the team not named Mauer or Willingham.

Ben Revere's 34 hits in June ties him with Mike Trout for MLB lead

And the 33 singles included in there has to be far and away the most in that span.

Ben Revere's first 17 PA following his May AAA recall: 4 XBH, 2 BB

Ben Revere's 134 PA since: 2 XBH, 2 BB

That's how it's done, TD.

First attempt at posting failed (don't worry, Pig...user error). I will now try the "Post Quick Reply" button. Change sucks.

Of those who have thrown more than 25 innings this year, Scott Diamond ranks 1st in ERA, 4th in FIP, and 3rd in xFIP

Drew Butera has a lower FIP pitching this year than Scott Diamond.

Over his last 23 starts dating back to June of 2011, Nick Blackburn has a 7.40 ERA in 110 2/3 IP with 165 hits and 20 HRs allowed.

Tweet from that idiot Mackey

I wonder if that's some sort of clever inside joke or just a needlessly classless moment.

What am I breaking new ground here, Mackey's the worst.

Decent writer...pretty crappy at everything else.

Carl Pavano has allowed more HRs than unintentional walks in 2012.

Here is a fangraphs look at the WAR from the top 3 members of each rotation in the majors. It was from an Angels article showing that their dynamite rotation of Weaver, Wilson and Haren is only OK but it also shows the Twins and their ineptitude. Sadly the number goes down when expanded to 5 starters. Diamond, Liriano and Pavano are the only starters with a positive WAR.

Trevor Plouffe, after entering a game in the 7th and finishing on May 4th: 45 PAs, .108/.267/.216

Trevor Plouffe, after getting regular play, entering the AS game: 254 PAs, .254/.327/.548 (provided the Twins close this game out and he doesn't come up again in Sunday night's game.)

Blame me...I jinxed em.

Trevor Plouffe tied Harmon Killebrew (who did it 3 times) as the only Twins player to hit 17HR in a 39 gm span.

THAT is a very fun fact!

Fun with numbers is supposed to be depressing numbers. Stop spreading the optimism.

Through July 6th, the Twins were undefeated in extra inning games.

After July 6th, the Twins have lost every extra inning game.

Already had! Although you fall well below Bremer's blame level since he did it more and had a wider audience. Ended the 8th heading to commercial talking about them being 3 outs from a shutout and then started the 9th going on and on about never seeing the Rangers shut out at The Ballpark.

And no, I don't believe in jinxes...but it's fun to blame people! Haha.

Twins starters have the lowest strikeout rate in the majors, 5.7/9.

Twins relievers.......have the lowest strikeout rate in the majors, 6.3/9.

Delmon Young has 9 walks on the season, the lowest amount for all qualified players.

He has 359 plate appearances. That one walk every 39.8 plate appearances. One walk every 10.8 games. One walk every 98.2 innings.

Words cannot express how abysmal that is.
