Is it politically incorrect to yell, "banzai!!" every time Suzuki drives in a run?

Pretty sure that word was officially de-ethnicized the minute that its most famous use became an Italian/Greek Jersey kid using it with the blessing of a Japanese immigrant:

By mentioning the fact that I'm jinxing things, I'm actually reverse jinxing things

You were doing great until this explanation resulted in a triple jinx.

Oh man, how dare you mention the triple jinx?

Brilliant Gameday Robot commentary that you wouldn't get from a live person:

SCOUT: Juan Carlos Oviedo may prefer to go after Joe Mauer, whose OPS is .666 this season, with the changeup rather than facing Brian Dozier, whose OPS is .790.

On a similar note, if Florimon pops up four times in a game and it's fielded by the 1b, 2b, ss and 3b, does Elias give him credit for hitting for the cycle?

I think the catcher has to get one too.

Does catching a called third strike count?

Thank you, your post corrected that. I'd be jinxing it again by pointing that out, except that I am noting it in advance which, by the rules of Jinxology, negates the effect. Or, at least by this point I have lost count.

By now the jinx has no idea if it's coming or going, meaning the outcome will be solely determined by the skills of the teams. Fortunately, we have been spotted 5 runs. It should be close.

"Just outside the reach of the normally sure-handed Florimon", according to Bert. While the replay shows the ball just missing the heel of the glove. :)

The ball was not hard hit and right to the middle of his zone.

When guys are in there for their defense, and they don't make easy plays, it's maddening.

With a LF/RF/1B/DH laden roster, the fact that a catcher is your defensive replacement in RF kind of says it all.

Nolasco getting screwed by the error "discretion" of the hometown scorekeeper.

We could ask Stew but I bet every scorekeeper in the league would call it the same way. Doesn't mean we have to like it, but errors don't get called the way that would be meaningful anymore.

If healthy, I think Deduno might be (one of) the best long reliever in the league. Just don't put him in a pressure situation in the 8th or 9th inning.

Glass half full take: At least he has over 200 professional games in the outfield. A certain other potential defensive OF replacement to start the year had roughly 0.

It's easy to forget that fans of some other teams expect grounders to third like Pinto's to be converted into outs fairly routinely...

Oh I know, but it sucks that Nolasco's sorta okay start now looks absolutely horrible. And it sucks that the Twins can't field pop ups or ground balls properly.

Guys like that are usually referred to as "minor leaguers".

Maybe he can get into the beer leagues to learn how to hit. I bet Colabello could get him a few contacts.
