Why do the Twins talk about winning?

Twins Video

I am bewildered to hear twins announcers say things like, What can we do to get back on track? We aren't hitting right now....

Hopefully the twins will get it together soon...WHY?

This season was completely lost in the Tampa Bay series when the Rays swept the twins. There should not be any more talk about getting back in the groove, putting it back together..this season is lost, what the twins should be talking about is next year...what do we need to compete, where can we improve and how?

Give any able body a chance, especially in September....

How about Ray Chang? Debinson Romero ...et al...Any pitcher who isnt disabled or terrible from New Britain on up...should be given a chance

to show what they have in the big leagues....To hear Twins announcers, you would think, if they just hit a little better, got better pitching, then we would be in contention...no, the team has quit...We have to weigh Gardenhires future with the team, this team, make no mistake about it,

has quit on him, the death knell for a manager. Personally, I favor retaining Gardenhire, but not sure about Andy if this happens again next year...its definetly bye bye Gardy..and truthfully, he will be lucky to survive this year...

What else can the Twins announcers do? They are paid employees of the Twins, and I am sure they are thinking exactly the same things we are all saying. I am personally not bothered by their comments about getting back on track, and how they are only a few pieces away from competing.

Dick/Bert have one job as the TV announcers, and that is to make the current game they are calling entertaining for the fans. Unfortunately, "fans" that they are speaking to are not including the majority of the people that visit this site. We all have no doubt that this is a lost season, and the Twins should be looking towards the future. But do you think the organization wants their employees to sit around for 4 hours every day talking about how terrible this season was and do nothing but depress the fans more than they already are?

I really think when they say things about the Twins being in contention if they just had a few small pieces in place is more tongue in cheek. Dick/Bert know that we are done, they're more or less saying if the Twins started the 2012 season with these few pieces then the story would be much different today.

Well, if we did hit better and got better pitching, we would be in contention. With the success that Bruno has had down in AAA, wouldn't mind bringing him up to the Bigs and giving him a shot as the hitting coach. And it isn't Gardy's fault, he isn't the one being paid millions upon millions of dollars to do what they have done since childhood and mostly doing it like they are a child facing grown men. And what do you expect? I would imagine most people want the Twins to succeed, especially those who are the announcers for them. How hard do you think it would be if you were the one who loved a team and had to announce most days that they stink? Pretty hard, I would imagine.

The mute button is your friend -- turn off the sound. You'll be surprised at how much more enjoyable it is to watch the games (even the way the Twins are playing) without listening to all the blathering and incessant interviews and gimmicks.

My only criticism of Dick and Bert is this... why is it that when they have a fan(s) join them in the booth for an inning, they are not given a microphone? It is so annoying having to sit around and watch Bert make them feel uncomfortable without realizing it, and not being able to hear what the fans are saying...

"It's the fan of the day, let's hear what they have to say! It's the fan of the day, let's hear what they have to say" IALTO coming....
