Career Game for Yates, Martin First AAA Home Run

Saint Paul, Minnesota - A combination of offense and pitching helped lift the Saints past the Mud Hens 8-2 on Friday night. Dallas Keuchel, Caleb Thielbar, and Oliver Ortega all had strong performances. On the offensive side the Saints put on a show to all 8,540 fans in attendance with four home runs. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Mark Contreras stepped to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the game. With the winning run on second the Saints were unable to complete a comeback. Contreras flew out to right, which ended the game, and the Saints fell 5-4 to Toledo. Saint Paul, Minnesota - It would be in the seventh inning when the Saints would break the game open on Wednesday afternoon against the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers). Saint Paul, Minnesota - It was hot and humid at CHS Field on Tuesday night. However, the bats were hot too. The Saints collected fourteen hits in a 14-7 win over the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) in front of 7,109. The Saints improved to 56-40 on the season.  Louie Varland started for St. Paul. Saint Paul, Minnesota - A tie game going into the ninth inning, but just like Friday night the Saints ran into some trouble in the ninth and would drop the series finale to the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) by a score of 5-3. Saint Paul, Minnesota - On Friday night the Saints took a two-run lead to the ninth and pitching struggled to close the game; however, on Saturday night the exact opposite happened. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) made their first ever trip to CHS Field to play the St. Paul Saints on Friday night and 8,643 were on hand to watch. Durham is defending the championship crown from last season, and on Friday night the Bulls demonstrated their ability to fight. However, the Saints overcame the odds-on Monday evening in a come from behind win to sweep the Gwinnett Stripers in front of 9,028 fans. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Dallas Keuchel made his second appearance with the Saints on Saturday night and first appearance at CHS Field. The 35-year-old worked 4.1 innings allowing zero runs on three hits in a 10-6 Saints victory over the Gwinnett Stripers at CHS Field in front of 8,715.
