  1. He looked like an All-Star last night. Most nights are stressful watching him pitch. Don't get me wrong, he gets the job done, but you just don't feel great about it. Last night, against some birds he looked great.
  2. Isn't there a "Space Needle" in the fairgrounds?
  3. Does anyone know what other SP are rumored to be on the block? I think the return for Erv depends heavily on that market, obviously. Sounds like a buyers market to me, which doesn't bode well for moving Santana. It's Dozier all over again...How many times did I read "Only trade him if the offer blows us away... His value has never been higher." Same goes for the Erv.
  4. They have to play a stretch of like 45 games in 45 days coming up. That stretch is going to show us a lot. They are going to need a #5 starter consistently for the first time this year. I'm not worried too much about the offense or the defense, stop me if you've heard this before, it's the pitching I'm concerned about. I'm also curious to see how Molitor does managing over a long stretch with few to no off days. If they can stay near .500 for the next month and a half, I think I will officially "believe."
  5. Man, lots of negativity and second guessing the FO, which is kind of fun, I admit. But did anyone watch JO pitch? Filthy! Jose Fernandez comparisons, nasty nasty stuff and 11Ks. Pretty fun to watch. I know I betray my Minnesota fandom roots by getting excited rather than just waiting for the wheels to come off, but I enjoyed watching one of our young starters pitch. When was the last time that happened? Duff man? Maybe May a little? It's been a while since anyone looked like Jose. If he can show a little consistency I might just freak right out. Here's to another 190 Ks for the kid!
  6. That was fun to watch. Two references to Jose Fernandez, Ian Desmond after the game and Latroy during the broadcast (I admit when I heard Latroy say it I thought "Easy, let's not get ahead of ourselves." But with Desmond saying it too makes me get a little excited. I could watch him pitch from the wind up all day. So smooth and easy and no one can seem to find that fastball with a bat. Still pretty early, but if he keeps this up I'll tune in every five days even if the wheels come off the rest of the team.
  7. The questions I have with this "odd" lineup are: I seem to recall that there was some trepidation with the Buxton hitting first because of the pressure of leading off...so we slot him in the "low-pressure" spot of hitting third. Not sure that makes sense to me. Mauer is the quintessential two hitter. Sure RG had a slightly higher OPB last year, but Mauer has a career .391 OBP. I just have a hard time seeing Grossman as a top of the order DH. I'm all for rethinking the way a this team takes the field after last year. But it seems like this is just a odd lineup for an odd lineups sake, but I guess as long as we win...
  8. My oh my, Sano can crush the ball. Nice to see that again. Anything that flies that far should have a stewardess on it! Erv looked great, not too many Ks, but that's fine, strikeouts are fascist. Nice to see him get the 3 at the end, though. Hope to see a different lineup against leftys from here on out, but its Opening Day, I get starting the "regulars." Winning is fun!
