  1. In this "Everyone gets a participation ribbon" society, are you really surprised? Defensive stats are meaningless nowadays.
  2. Has there been any comment about Dozier? IMO, if it were an injury, I think they would have said something by now.
  3. They wouldn't necessarily bring up an infielder. Unless they expect Sano to miss more time as well. They still have plenty.
  4. From yarni's facebook feed. Today in Twins history: Andrew Albers made his MLB debut in 2013. He came out to start the 9th inning looking for a complete game shutout. He gave up a lead off single and then a one out walk. That was it. He was relieved by Casey Fien who quickly retired the final two batters. A week later Albers would finish the deal, spinning a two hitter. After that, it was pretty much downhill for Albers' career. But, he had a fantastic start.
  5. Interesting development. Dozier out of the game. No injury that seems likely. Could he have been traded?
  6. It appeared to me that Grossman was tagged before Escobar touched the plate. Of course, it also appeared that Grossman was safe. So, I think both umpires on the field made wrong calls.
  7. Well, last year he gave up two hits to LHB in 26 at bats. Of course, one was a walk off HR.
  8. Why? They have a culture of success there.
  9. Productive out from the pitcher's spot.
  10. Martinez ain't exactly fooling the Twins' hitters.
  11. Haven't you heard? Anytime a Twins pitcher does well, Castro gets credit. When they struggle - you know, like nearly all of them have done all season - it's because they aren't listening to him or the coaches. I mean, there's no other explanation that justifies spending $24,000,000 on Castro over three seasons. Right?
  12. Hopefully we see an improved Jose Berrios. In other news, so far today the Twins BABIP is 1.000.
  13. If Esposito hasn't found anyone in Texas in the last 30 years, it was long past time for him to go. Knoblauch was a 1988 pick. Put that in perspective, Ronald Reagan was POTUS.
  14. No offense tonight. Whoudda thunk it with that powerhouse lineup?
  15. So, here's my question: Why did it take 4 months to notice and correct Pressly's delivery flaw? I was on a tour of Target Field. They showed us the video room for the opponents and told us the Twins had a similar facility.
  16. What was the pitch total Maddux had in his famous complete game? 86? Hamels has a shot.
  17. Gee appears to be the long man. Who is he taking innings from? Everyone else who has pitched that role this year has been terrible.
  18. That would be a great play up 3-0. Especially with the clean up hitter due.
  19. Yes. Last night. 24 hours ago. Teams are fully capable of getting a guy from AAA that fast. As for who goes down, I said it earlier. Anyone of 8 relievers. Most logically Gee, Busenitz or Boshers.
  20. Game defining moment upcoming.
  21. Twins are leading time of possession. Hammells 15 pitches, Gibson 39 through 2 IP.
  22. Sure about that? Against Hammels? Or a lefty in general for that matter?
