  1. Thanks for the explanation of "the big difference between potentially a big impact player and a prospect". I guess a five-tool 16-yr-old would be the stereotypical 'PROSPECT".
  2. With all the Twins Daily awards and the unreal numbers from last season, Hildenberger was the still the SIXTH-RATED TWINS RHRP prospect in BA's Prospect Handbook behind Burdi, Meyer, Chargois, Reed and Landa. That is UN-BLEEPING-SUNG in my estimation. If you aren't a high draft choice or a tool-box, you get no respect. Just like Matt Duffy, Jose Altuve and Rodney Dangerfield!
  3. Trevor Hildenberger AA STATS 2-2 W-L; 0.89 ERA; 30.1 IP; 5BB; 33K; 0.69 WHIP Get him to AAA ASAP!
  4. Maybe the umpire thought he had a better idea of the strike zone than a catcher whose batting slash line is .083/.132/.111/.243. If Murphy's OPS is .243, he has no credibility on strike zone size or location. In fact, Murphy's strike zone must include both batter's boxes.
  5. "Trevor Hildenberger assigned to Chattanooga Lookouts from Fort Myers Miracle" Gotta love those fast-rising non-prospects.
  6. Quit trying to defend Nolasco and Milone!
  7. Not unless that "event" is a funeral, and only your own funeral is an acceptable excuse.
  8. We could just concede the first out and THEN have Dozier bat.
  9. It's good to know that psychiatric help is always available from our Twins Daily un-licensed therapists. I'm sure that if we are qualified to help Terry Ryan, we can certainly help each other.
  10. Everybody, get off the couch! Your fifty minutes are up!
  11. The dearly departed John Hicks was the first casualty, and Pat Dean should be the second one....IMO.
  12. I think it should go to Stuart Turner. He is hitting as well as he ever has in Pro Ball and his confidence in his hitting may never be this high again.
  13. Buddy, you gotta let it go.....or visit your therapist.
  14. Thanks for the info. Either AMF Pat Dean or just foggettabout David Murphy would have been sufficient to protect Hicks.
  15. That doesn't correct the error. The Twins acquired THREE good defensive catchers this offseason. (Murphy, Hicks and Centeno) Likely only two, one or none of them will hit MLB pitching. Hicks was a valuable asset because he may have been the ONLY one who can hit in MLB. Like Nick Nelson suggested: Put Pat Dean (or Logan Darnell) on waivers and protect Hicks.

  17. Yes, from Nick's article. I just said "prosecuted", not "convicted". I doubt if Terry Ryan has a previous criminal record. I would ask for probation and restitution.
  18. IMO, the Twins' losing John Hicks to waivers was BEYOND STUPID. Whoever engineered that move should be fired or prosecuted. Suzuki and JR Murphy are both failing and there were no other catchers on the 40-man. If it was done to add another outfielder, it was Beyond-Beyond Stupid. There are several worthless pitchers on the 40-man roster who should have been kicked to the curb instead of Hicks, who was probably on pace to replace JR Murphy on the 25-man roster, at least temporarily.
  19. From Twins Centric: "We have our early favorite for most inexplicable Twins roster decision of 2016. Over the weekend, the team outrighted catcher John Hicks, presumably to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for an impending David Murphy call-up. Hicks was quickly claimed by the Tigers, so he's gone"
  20. What shortcomings led to John Hicks being placed (and lost) on waivers?
  21. Great day for Daniel (Beer Barrel) Palka. My bad!, but SOMEBODY was eventually going to call him that.
  22. Park was originally signed as a third-baseman.
