  1. Not to 2nd guess the MoY...but I'm gonna 2nd guess If the starter is throwing 80-90 wouldn't it help to bring in someone with a little more velo just to throw a different look at them??
  2. Big Erv 2018 looks a lot like Big Sexy 2017
  3. I would counter with it takes outside the box thinking like this to take the game to the next level...anyone remember Sidd Finch? (kind of reminds me of Oliver Twist's delivery)
  4. I can give him 14 Million reasons
  5. Getting harder to tell a FB from a ChangeUp from Erv 81-87 on most pitches hit 90 on a couple so that's encouraging
  6. Big Erv has ZERO downward dog plane on all his pitches today...that doesn't bode well
  7. Cave must have read the minor league report from last night...Luis Gil who??
  8. Duffy has a long history of histrionics with umpires and it may well have cost him there...plus walking off before the call didn't help earlier either...maybe don't trade for him
  9. how about some good old fashioned contact with the sacks full Caveman?
  10. Big Erv best bounce that 81mph BP Change-UP or it will be a short afternoon
  11. If you can't beat him trade for him??
  12. Sheet has been reset Reminder to duplicate the You be the GM Tab before making any changes to it I'd rather leave it open for everyone to make their own
  13. Magic Number Update: Division: 63 Wild Card: 66
  14. Drake shakin' his arm like he won't be around long...I see a quick trip to the DL for him (hope not)
  15. break in the Twins game if you want to listen to Moss's speech...up next
  16. Alarms should be ringing in Twins world in regards to the physical fitness of Twins Uber-Prospects and/or the amount of "pressure" or Tough Love, as Thrylos put it, that has been applied to these prospects At some point it's ok to demand a certain amount of effort from youngsters...I have no idea what's being asked of them at the end of the season, but it sure doesn't seem like there's been a plan put in place for them to grow and improve or move up Indications are that this might be attributable to the old FO as the three that come to mind are pre-Falvine and we haven't had enough time to see how their picks pan out I'm not saying they aren't fantastic athletes...just what are they doing or not doing to stagnate prior to MLB success? As we tell young golfers struggling with consistently making good contact with the golf ball... Once is pure luck...Twice we may have something...Three times is a trend With Sano, Buxton and Gordon we're seeing a trend that has me wondering about the off-season program they are expected to complete
  17. What else is there to do on a stormy/rainy August day then to attempt to make sense out of the Twins 40-man roster heading into this winter I combed through the Roster Resource Information and put the info together in a way that everyone can take a stab at setting the 40-man roster Here's a link to the Google Sheet and some very limited instructions on how you might use it 2019 40-Man Toolkit There are Tabs at the bottom of the sheet for each team in the Twins system and their current roster (25-man,40-man,Roch,Chat,FM,CR,ETwins,GCL,DSL). These pull from the MLB and MiLB websites so should stay current Roster Resource info is NOT linked and I highly doubt I'll keep it updated...although I'm a little hesitant to believe it is 100% correct so if you have direct knowledge of an error let me know and I'll change it (is Graterol really eligible this winter?) If you don't mind sharing your choices click the down triangle on the Tab "You Be the GM DUPLICATE THIS TAB NAME IT YOU" and duplicate the TabName it something we can all identify you by and make your adjustments There is a Sample tab at the bottom for an example of how to make your movesEnter text in the column directly right of a players last name to Drop/Trade/DL (honestly anything you type in there will remove them from the count) Copy and paste any players first and last names from the Rule 5 Eligible list on the far right and it will add them to your 40-man count Feel free to make your own copy of the sheet if you prefer Any issues or questions let me know in the Thread so I can share the answers with everyone
  18. I too am ready to see what Gordon can do...he's got bloodlines that have been successful at the MLB level, time to throw him to the wolves and see how fast he assimilates The Tortuga experiment was nice and playful, but I, for one, have a hard time taking a team serious when there is more value in the novelty of a player (ability to make contact and presumably play all over the place) than in how he makes the team better Escobar became such an integral part of the team by being serviceable at several positions first and then becoming a much better hitter through the years I'd want a utility guy that is glove first bat second (see Ehire)
  19. Garvsauce pushing those strikes at the bottom of the zone into balls Be a professional...work on your craft more than a HS sophomore
  20. Remember...Austin was acquired for Lance Lynn any return at the Major League level is a plus Lynn was not a terrible acquisition...things just didn't go as planned and he was flipped...if Austin contributes in 7 wins the rest of the year it's a success
