  1. What is everyone's thoughts on the max contract you think would make sense for Darvish? The less years the better obviously but it's going to take 5-6 years for sure, I think the 6 years $150 million is prolly what it's going to take. I would just be happy because at least it would be a MOVE
  2. Even if the Twins hold on to the 2nd WC spot and lose the WC game, this season has been a great storyline. What other team gets the white flag from the front office and trades away some chips at the deadline, only to roar back and play much better ball afterwards. These guys are a vicious little bunch and I love following them!
  3. Wow this Melville guy must be quite something, gameday says he's throwing a 95 mph curveball
  4. Thanks, wow I never knew it was that much! Where do you find stats like that?
  5. My biggest problem with Berrios is his lack of pitches, he essentially has two pitches he relies on, fastball and curveball and while they are both good pitches, he needs something else to keep hitters off balance. I know he has tinkered with a changeup, does he still throw it much? Even an average slider or changeup I think would make a huge difference for him
  6. As some have been saying, time to automate the strike zone! Bad calls can determine the outcome of a game, and that's not cool.
  7. I am all for conservative buying of a starting pitcher, bullpen I think we have enough inhouse options at AA and AAA but we could use a solid starting pitcher, nothin fancy but able to eat some innings this team cannot sell, it would ruin the already slim fan base and also the young core of this team. I think they can sneak into the playoffs and who knows where it could go from there!
  8. I can't figure out how Jason Vargas is so successful, just from watching replay videos. The guy's fastball doesn't really have any movement and 85-87 and none of his off speed stuff has any nasty bite. I guess good command must go a long ways!
  9. Yes I do agree with you. Just love to get some high upside, young pitchers into our system.
  10. Can we PLEASE just try spending it on some pitching, we have Javier, Lewis, and Gordon already but we are really lacking top end pitching talent.
  11. Anyone think the Twins are waiting to nab Blayne Enlow? I don't know much about him, but he sounds intriguing. Their savings thus far may be what it takes to entice him even as a later pick into signing
  12. Alex Meyer on the mound for the halos today too....this could be sweet or painful
  13. "Paul Goldschmidt was on nobody’s top 100 ever, ever. He’s turned out OK.” Love that, if the Twins could just get 3-4 "OK" hitters in their lineup, we'd have a sweet team
  14. It might just be me, but I have a feeling that Light could become a stud in our bullpen
  15. Come rain or come shine, I'm just pumped things are actually happening!!
  16. Read this, good for twinsdepressionosis is well... http://bringmethenews.com/2016/07/11/the-twins-have-the-best-offense-in-baseball-since-mid-june/
  17. Yeah good idea Mauer, give er balls at a 3-0 pitch, with guys on 1st and 2nd and Sano on deck, yep that is the way to do it, give yourself a pat on the back. Hey at least we don't pay him much, oh shoot... actually I'd forgot about that!
