  1. So that's what a 1-2-3 inning feels like.
  2. In fact, the team we're playing never asks their lead off hitter to bunt.
  3. More like a game of "how many runs can you score against our crappiest pitchers?"
  4. Eddie's making a strong case for a keeper on my fantasy team. Looks like a .300/30 HR candidate for years to come.
  5. Can't believe they aren't walking Rosario.
  6. Is it just me or does Colon look like Andre the Giant?
  7. The way this is going one more win should do it!
  8. I thought it was Castro's framing.
  9. The key is to distract them with something shiny. . . . Did I say that out loud?
  10. No bunts yet? Has Mollie lost control of this team?
  11. They aren't "literally" measuring different things, they are rating systems that purport to measure the same thing -- wins above replacement. They not only don't match or track proportionately, they don't even agree on who is having a better year. So it's important to understand what data and assumptions are being used and determine whether you agree or disagree with those assumptions and the use of that data.
  12. They are not statistics, they are rating systems, based on different assumptions and data, which is why they don't even track consistently as comparisons between players. Similar to a QB rating -- which also is not a statistic..
  13. The results are so divergent, it almost makes you want to rely on actual statistics and historical facts, rather than someone else's rating system. . . . But then, the rating system is easier.
  14. I agree. They could just say "you're the player of the game, congratulations!" And have the player say, "thank you to these great fans!" And be done with it. The questions are awkward, the players want to go celebrate, and can't really concentrate on long, boring questions. Either make it really quick or stop with the interviews.
  15. Do we know that Molly called for the bunt? It looked like Rosario doing it on his own to get a hit. Bad decision either way. Houston took care of business, and were now up 3!
  16. Totally agree with this. Not sure why you'd think Kepler has more upside than Rosario. As far as the Latin thing, watching Kevin Gorg interview Rosario after the game, with a translator present, it made me wonder if Twins Daily has any Spanish-speaking writers who could really improve the reporting on a team that has so many Latinos who'd much prefer to be interviewed in Spanish. I would think this would be a gold mine of information about these players and the team to which the mainstream press does not have access (sorry "Access").
  17. If we can win some easy games against teams that have nothing to play for, like SD, TOR and DET, we can probably get 6-7 innings from some starters, and pitch the back end of the bullpen like we did last night. This gives our top bullpen arms much needed extra rest. This makes playing 18 games in 19 days much easier, and alleviates the potential negative effects from the team's weakest link. Add to this, that if Mejia is decent, and Sano comes back strong, we're suddenly looking like a pretty deep squad. I agree with John, that the Yankees aren't particularly scary, and I would love nothing more than to beat them in the WC game.
