  1. I would give DeVries some credit for pitching a good inning.
  2. Where is Bark? As a Plouffetist, he must be loving this.
  3. Nice HRs for Morneau and Plouffe. Great comeback from a bad 4th inning. With all the high draft picks that the Royals have enjoyed, you would think that their pitching would be better.
  4. He makes some nice plays then makes horrible errors. And his hitting is mediocre. But until we get someone better, he needs to play.
  5. Nice fastball by DeVries to end the inning.
  6. Dozier could probably use an off day.
  7. I would like to see Manship get a chance to start, but agree that Blackburn will likely be an improvement over Pavano.
  8. I watched the entire game today and he seemed to be very solid, despite 3 or 4 errors by the defense. The Indians' announcers talked about his ability to change speeds, which may be the key to him having a good career. He also showed good composure when there were runners on base. Will Diamond ever be a MLB ace? Probably not. He had only two strikeouts today. But maybe the Twins have found a southpaw Brad Radke who can deliver solid performances for a few years. And if he can keep his era below 2.00, then he deserves consideration for this year's All Star game.
  9. I agree with you that Plouffe should have made the play. And I am glad that this is not counting as an earned run against Diamond. If Diamond can keep his era below 2.00, then maybe he will get picked for the all-star game.
  10. What are the Twins announcers saying about this?
  11. Indians announcers just said that Mauer is injured. Out of the game with a right thumb sprain.
  12. cbssportsline is showing zero earned runs, but they could be wrong. Either way, a good outing for Diamond.
  13. Diamond also seems to have good composure -- he did not seem to be affected by the multiple fielding errors.
  14. Nice leadoff double by Plouffe to make up for his error last inning, plus he goes to third on an Indians' error. Plouffe has raised his average today from .176 to .198. A great day for Plouffe. And now he scores a badly needed insurance run on a SF by Casilla.
  15. If there had been no errors, Diamond would be working on a shutout. Indians' announcers are admiring Diamond's ability to change speeds.
  16. Damn -- the Indians get their third UNEARNED run.
  17. Three errors by the Twins today, plus Dozier's uncalled error, yet we still have a lead.
  18. DOOM!!! He creamed the ball to drive in the Hammer for another insurance run.
  19. Fantastic at bat by the Hammer! He hung in with a lot of foul balls until he got something he could hit. We needed that insurance run.
