  1. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Swarzak can be traded for anything remotely useful.
  2. I don't even know the breakdown for every team, but does the pitcher that makes the most just get defaulted into the "Ace" position?
  3. I'm not even reading your post. For someone that is claiming personal attacks coming from other people, you sure are condescending towards, oh, pretty much everyone you disagree with.
  4. A 6th starter that doesnt have the stuff to be more than a mopup man in the bullpen, that is destined to be DFA'ed and joining Blackburn in Rochester. Oh, and we will have him next year too. I should add that I hope the guy can give us 180-200+ innings of <=4.50ERA and be able to hold his own to give us some value. History just isn't on his side. I'm moving on past this whole scuffle.
  5. Maybe I missed something, but if you add two 3 WAR players to replace players with a -WAR, that is more than 6.
  6. You're really going to pick nits of 10 contracts versus 12? Good lord.
  7. I think you are underestimating how much more of a negative effect a 65 win team can have on attendence over a 75-80 win team.
  8. Why would they do that? They are very loyal to their fan base!!! ........................
  9. What exactly are your projections for Pelfrey and Correia? Seeing as one is coming off significant arm surgery and both are making the NL to AL jump. EDIT: Oops I just no saw the 'not a by the pitcher breakdown' part.
  10. Or you could be more realistic and suggest that him and his $10M salary could be joining Blackburn in the Rochester rotation.
  11. I think it depends on how good the 2nd baseman is of each team that follows the play second/bat second philosophy.
  12. People shouldn't have to Google where you got your information. All I am saying is if you post newsworthy info you should include a source or a link. Come on man.
  13. Not sure what shots you are referring to. When you include any news related info, it's just nice to include a link with where you got the info. Otherwise it sounds like you are doing the reporting. That's all.
  14. Top Gun that's the most sense you've made all off season. I hope for Hicks but think Maestro is more likely in this case. No need for Hicks. I'd like it if he was though.
  15. Just thinking out loud here, how on Earth have we not been linked to Derek Lowe? He seems right up our wheelhouse, especially this year.
  16. How did Nolan Ryan only win over 20 games twice? Were his teams that crummy? The majority of his career was before my time. And sweet Jesus he through 300+ K's a lot
  17. At this point, I think walking into a Kia dealer with a crisp new $100 is a more accurate comparison.
  18. Not sure what the deal still is with the commenting, but I will copy and paste what I typed in the comments of the article: Good article. I think part of the reason that it is easier to care about a baseball team is because our money is directly related (or should be) to the product we get out of it. If we all buy their gear and go to their games, we (should) be able to reap th benefits from spending our money on their business. We have a say - if their product sucks, we don't spend our money on it. It's too bad the opposite is happening.

  20. I think the average price of gas is too high. I'm not going to buy more until it is my asking price of $1.20 a gallon. Until then, I will make my own.
  21. Have you really had 833 posts all to this nature? We get it.
  22. I hope people have their questions ready for the Twins brass at the caravan stops. I will be waiting for you all to report back to us with what is said.
  23. Overly generous? He gets a D at best currently, and that's only because of the prospects acquired. Otherwise his offseason has F all over it.
