  1. As I had above. Making. MLB.tv more accessible would help get more viewers. IMO. Blacking out in-market games is just ridiculous. In Western Iowa where I live I am blacked out of the Twins, Royals, Cardinals, White Sox, Cubs and Brewers games. And subsequently the teams they play. I think making games more mobile and available will help get viewers for the younger generation.
  2. One thing to remember about the Indians is that they're also a year older. I think if the Twins still add a decent starting pitcher they can take down the Indians. Biggest problem with it all is the Twins will have to face the Yankees in the playoffs. As the Yankees are also on the up.
  3. The middle infield depth the Org has hasn't shown anything yet in the majors. I think the Twins should play out the year and offer Dozier a qualifying offer if he has a good season OR offer him a 2 year, 3 year max, extension. As much as I like Dozier I wouldn't go beyond 3 years. Hopefully 2.
  4. Only player I'd take is Maybin. Only because of his defensive ability to go with his right handed bat. Vargas is superior to the rest and that's not including rotating Sano, Grossman, and Mauer though DH as well.
  5. Nice piece. Always interesting to see these type of draft stories. I wonder if his career would still end up the same and whether he'd have hit his 600th with the twins or someone else. Was pretty awesome watching him launch balls into deep right field.
  6. He seems to have a good approach and solid defensively. Seems like he could or should be a fast riser. 2017 draft class could be a dang good one. Looking great so far. Best of luck Andrew!
  7. The 6 run come back against the White Sox was another big one. I think it may have been 2008. But can't remember was towards the end of the year. Was the game Span had the triple that Scotty Ulger basically held him on the bag. Lol
  8. Still remember my friends and I doing a washington apple shot with Nathan in St Louis. Pretty cool guy.
  9. I got goose bumps a couple times watching the video. Cuddyer hustling around to 2 3rd and the walk off hit from one of the piranhas!
  10. It'll be Boshers and then Kinley. Definitely will not be Moya. I wish the Twins would trade Grossman and give big Kennys a real chance to be the everyday (most days) DH. But trade Grossman with adding another position player to take his place. Preferably someone with more defensive value. Enns may be on the bubble as well but I think they want to see more from him before letting him go.
  11. It would probably cost the Twins more money by waiting until next off season, but I'd feel much better by waiting until next off season. It'd give the Twins more time to judge what kind of player he's going to be. I believe it's the player he was the 2nd half of last year. But he's also been streaky and prone to injury with his aggressive style of play. I think have that extra piece of mind would be worth the extra money it may cost. That being said he'll also be one year closer to free agency and may not be interested in an extension.
  12. I've been thinking all along that they could legitimately sign him. I thought they'd shock the baseball world and sign Otani and Darvish. But that didn't happen. That being said I don't think Darvish will live up to a contract that's anything more than 3 maybe 4 years. Which is what it's gonna take to sign him. If he'd sign for 4 years with the twins for "market value" then I'd be good with the signing. Otherwise I don't think he'll live up to it. I'd love to see the twins be aggressive on the starting pitching front while they're on the rise. Instead of squandering the prime years of their offense like they did during the 2000s.
  13. When Rosario is on, he's one of the better players in the league. This is why I always hate seeing people mention him as a trade possibility. He WILL come back to bite us if he gets traded. I also think alot of his defensive decline had to do with bone headed plays. Combination of Delmon Young's bobbles and Carlos Gomez's poor throws. Seems like some easy things to fix. I think he is just overly confident in his abilities at times. Thinking he can gun someone down when he should just be hitting the cutoff man.
  14. I agree with a lot of what is said above. I read 99% on mobile and don't see the blogs. Or even the message boards for that matter. Usually just check for new articles on the front page (Daily and sometimes multiple) and if I don't see anything I move on. Would be nice for this to be more easily accessible. If they were I'd read them all and imagine others would as well. I have a good group of friends that are big time twins fans but not to the point of following them daily. So i enjoy coming here daily to interact with people that nerd out like myself. I also like the idea of more avenues for Twins media. Like YouTube videos, podcasts, ect. I listen to Gleeman and the Geek regularly. Only gripe with it is that it's 60-90 min and usually only half is Twins related. I love TD and it'd make it hard to be a Twins fan without it. Startribune just isn't very good and the comments give me a headache. Pioneer Press has good info from Mike Berardino but there isn't much comment interaction. And nowhere else covers the minor leagues like TD does. Love the work you guys do and hope it keeps going strong and growing.
  15. I'd say no to all unless we are able to "win" big on the trade. I'd rather they spend money for free agents than to spend prospect assets.
  16. Curious howuch all of these jobs pay. As it's been stated that they can't afford to spend money like the big market clubs on players but they can spend money on these positions to help better develope the players.
  17. Big adjustment for him from HS to pro-ball. Not just in advanced pitching but being away from home. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts this year. I had read somewhere that the Twins actually tried to sign that international SS from the Braves that they had lost, but didn't want to go to the Twins based on their minor league depth at SS. Is that true? And why the Twins then traded that international money to the Angels for Pearson? Good luck to Pearson! Can never have to much talent.
  18. Doesn't make sense to give up Bard for the new guy. Bards had more success at AA. And how long did the Twins have to keep Burdi on the 40 man roster before moving him to the 60 day DL? Seems they could've delayed his 40 man decision into June or later. Buy as others have said. The twins know their players better than we do.
  19. I just can't see why the heck you would trade Gonsalves or Romero for another pitcher. Seems dumb to trade one of your 2 best pitchers in the Organization for someone that's had more success in MLB, but is older. And that's not counting any other players it'd take to aquire said player.
  20. Seth, do you think the Twins front office would acquire players farther from MLB (The 2 international money trades and Watson) to be ready once the current upper group reaches the end of their time with either the Twins or MLB? Or is it just over thinking and they just got the best they could with what they had? Also...of your top 50 who would you choose of the group to be a future Twins HOFer? I'd choose Lewis assuming he isn't traded and gets a decent length career in MN.
  21. Forgot the John Ryan Murphy for Gabriel Moya trade. Could be a good one as well.
  22. If a player such as Stewart is taken in the Rule 5 and spends "X" amount of time in the majors before being sent back to his original Org. Does that start his MLb service clock? Option year?
  23. I'd wait till next off season on Mauer. Then most likely two year extension max. I'm thinking Rooker plays well this year and could take over in '19. I don't see why Gordon is always the first name to come up as a trade candidate. I can see why other teams would have interest in him obviously, but did Polanco show enough this year to make him expendable? Will Lewis move fast and make him expendable? Guess the story lines for the rest of the off-season and then in 2018 will be fin to watch and follow.
