Article: Twins Daily Roundtable: Sell, Sell, Sell?
T_J replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
They have shown zero consistency this season. They're 7 games under .500 and 7.5 back. They should've been buyers two weeks ago but standing pat has forced them to be sellers. They're constantly playing to the level of their competition and this season that's going to mean doom for them since the central is terrible. -
Article: Twins Daily Roundtable: Romero's Innings
T_J replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I thought this 20% rule was debunked. Like the bogus full moon means a crazy night - Correlation ≠ Causation. What was the choice to get up to 90 innings post surgery? Why was that the magic number? Lets think about Trevor May, he was hurt in Spring Training. Should pitchers not pitch in spring training anymore because that's when his injury took place? There are warm-up pitches, bullpen sessions and long toss. How do you add them to the equation? Having an innings limit is arbitrary.- 44 replies

I don't get what's not being understood. Character is a trait. It's how you carry yourself along the lines on integrity. Traits don't have race and it's completely obtuse to imply that due to one's race that they get labeled with certain traits more often. If you believe that less black ball players have this character trait talked about less than a white, guess what, you would be correct. Not because blacks are less likely to have this type of trait but because there are less blacks in the sport. Many have talked about the traits of Buxton, Puckett, Hunter, ect. They happen to all be black, play(ed) center field. Does that mean that having good character in a black man means he plays center field? Of course not. Let's also not forget, Puckett would've been thrashed today for what he did. Hunter is extremely homophobic. People have their faults and a discussion can be had what makes a person good/bad or if there is even such a thing as a good/bad person (hint: there isn't). why am I still typing...

If so many teams are playing for 2019's #1 pick, why mandate that every teams gets a player. I know, I know... It's still annoys me. It's the All Star game intended to showcase the best players. If your favorite team doesn't happen to have one of the leagues best 34 players on it, too bad.

Article: Wander Javier's Labral Tear
T_J replied to Heezy1323's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Last September I dislocated my shoulder and ended up with a couple labral tears and a fractured glenoid rim. I had to have the glenoid fracture duct taped back into place. Needless to say, my prospect status has fallen quickly. I'm finally just able to work on strengthening it back up now. I tried to throw a ball far for my dog to fetch over the weekend and instant regret set in. -

MIRACLE MATTERS Ft. Myers 5, Tampa 0 After Wells left, the Westmont Duo took over and combined for the final three innings. Andrew Vasquez worked two innings and was charged with an unearned run. Hector Lujan threw a perfect ninth inning. This might be the largest story of the day! Being charged with a run but not giving a run!!!

Article: Were We Possibly This Wrong?
T_J replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
They just look so uptight and need to relax. I think getting Santana back, even if he isn't as good as last year and I don't expect him to be, will bring in a calming. He seems to just go out and have a good time. He seems to just have that chill demeanor that can radiate the clubhouse. They just need to gel and string some things together.- 78 replies

Article: Twins at Yankees Series Preview
T_J replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Wow, two comments and both think it's a Yankee sweep! Odorizzi has not been horrible vs The Yankees and Tanaka has not looked good at all yet this season. Berrios, probably, would like to show that he should've been chosen to start the play in game. CC is just a serviceable pitcher at this point. Gray vs Lynn... Rain? Montgomery Vs Gibson... Well, the hometown 9 tend to score a bunch when he's pitching so there is that. Plus its Get away day game with The Yankees heading to LA. The Yankees are a great looking team that are waiting to breakout, but so are The Twins. Spits to the right God I hate the Yankees!- 4 replies

I go to St. Paul and I feel like I'm in another country. “That’s my country, that’s my colors,” Berrios said, “but I represent the Minnesota Twins, too, so I have to wait. When (the Twins) say they approve, I’m good.” Link Even people from that island say it's their country. It's a little over kill that I see this brought up over and over in the comments. It's far from a big deal and it's picking nits for sure. If you don't want to nit pick... don't. This is a great read that shouldn't have these types of pickers.

I'm not too worried about where the minor league guys start. Pitching seems to have a steep injury curve.

I want flames on the side too! I want so much speed that it kicks up grass too! When it rains I want to see mud tracks left in its wake. Oh, maybe have two of them for racing... Ok, I have dreams and goals in life. I have places I want to go things I want to see and career marks I want to hit. I have mouths to feed and homes to pay for. I will give up nearly all of that to be the driver. I would put everything on pause to have that job!

Article: Twins Daily 2018 Top Prospects: #8 Blayne Enlow
T_J replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
You mean Ken Griffey Jr.? One of the most phenomenal players in the history of the game? I don't think there is a current prospect in all of baseball with Ken Griffey Jr. upside. Lets let them develop at an appropriate curve and time frame. -
Rosario is my favorite current Twin. Watching him play he seems to actually care about outcomes of every game. He just has that look in his eyes. I was at a game against the Padres this season and I watched him steal third and take home on a bad throw. In extra innings he came up to bat and I leaned in and told my poor old mother that wasn't enjoying the bonus baseball (Seriously, why go to a ball game if you're going to complain about getting free baseball!!!!) that his at bat was going to be the last one of the game. I said Eddie is going to be the hero for the night. He ends up doing it. Blasting a walk-off. To me, he just has that "it factor" when it comes to wanting to win.

Article: Photographer Accuses Miguel Sano Of Assault
T_J replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
You can not force someone to go to the police in these instances. I was trained as a military police officer in one of the branches of the armed forces. This isn't exactly breaking news, but the military has issues with sexual violence. It's still a huge problem but major strides are being made. The first major chance was not forcing victims to name or testify against their whom they accused. That kinda flies in the faces of people that want justice and to protect people but the military deemed it a higher priority to get the victims mental health and therapy over charging and convicting. They were finding that more victims were willing to come forward and get the treatment needed if they were not forced to make statements to us. It is straining to go through an ordeal of this nature both physically and mentally. It's straining to receive this type of information from a friend or someone you love and to be asked to not do anything. It's hard to understand how the victim doesn't want justice. How the victim doesn't want this person off the streets. As a man that it didn't happen to, its perplexing. We instantly believe what we're being told by someone close to us. It's not even an issues that she's not being truthful. When we don't know the victim, we can be leary. When it's someone we know, we want justice. Before I was in military police work, I was an infantryman. I'll always be an infantryman in my heart. Infantryman are warriors, fighters trained killers. My first wife was going to linguist training in Monterrey, Ca and I was at Ft. Campbell, Ky. She called me one day and said she had been raped. Naturally, my first thoughts were murder. I wanted to pack a platoon and drive across the country that second. My first thoughts shouldn't have been that, they should've been about helping her mentally, helping her work through it. She didn't want to go to the police, she just wanted to have someone hear her at this time. I was further frustrated because by not going to the police, I couldn't even go out there to see her. It wasn't my choice to make on how she moved forward. We ended up divorced, not because of this, because we were too young and too stupid. Know this, I will never forget that mans name. If we ever cross paths, I'm going to knock his teeth out. I am an infantryman at heart. It's easy to spend the Twins ownership money when it's not our money. It's easy to talk about what moves you would make if you ran the team because it's it's not your job to lose. It's easy to talk about what you would do if someone told you something heavy like this but until it happens to you, you have no idea how you'll react. First and foremost, you're reaction should be to help because they are talking to you for a reason. It's to relieve just a touch of the burden. It's not for you to turn into some white knight. It's not about you at all. You can't internalize something like this. That's the problem that I think most men have, we tend to make it about ourselves. That got long and really didn't add a thing to the discussion about this story at all. Let's not go an bash a person for not going to the police because that isn't the right thing to do. The right thing to do is help you're friends move forward in life.- 189 replies

Article: Photographer Accuses Miguel Sano Of Assault
T_J replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
First of all, the police will not investigate this unless she goes to them. It is her right, as the alleged victim, to not come forward to them. Second, the prosecution will not charge him unless the police investigate the information. If she is not willing to face her accuser at trial, they will not force her to. If she is unwilling to do that, they will not waste resources on an investigation. Third, we're not even talking about possible activities that reach a felony level (maybe false imprisonment would but would be difficult to prove) so the amount of resources would be minimal anyways. Enough about that... Rob Plummer, Sano's former agent, has stated he wasn't witness to these events to ESPN. He wasn't sworn in and subject to perjury or anything but he did a ton for Sano. He got him a large signing bonus, a movie deal and got him to the majors. In return, he got fired. I'm not him but if I was, I wouldn't be compelled to lie here - I would be compelled to tell the truth though. If TD was made aware of this long ago, I respect their decision to withhold that information at the possible victims request. As friends and coworkers, she had an expectation of privacy and desecration in this instance. I assume she brought this information about as that and not as a story to be posted on the front page of a Minnesota Twins blog site. If she came for help and advise but was dissuaded because TD was worried about recourse form the Twins, I will never click this site again. Small as this site might be, it has loud fans. If the Twins would have refused further collaboration because you assisted a possible victim, we would've been there for you guys. To me, her story doesn't add up but I have had female friends share similar information with me... way too often actually... and I believe them when they tell me something like this. I do not rush to the nearest police station or newspaper. I ask if they want me to do some hoodrat ****. Most of the time they just want someone to listen. Sometimes I get to do hoodrat ****.- 189 replies

Article: Photographer Accuses Miguel Sano Of Assault
T_J replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It seems people here know her and her character. I don't know her nor do I know Sano. If she is telling the truth, even if the ten minute timeframe is 100% exaggerated, dont trade Sano, just release him. Make a statement about this type of behavior. I'm skeptical about it, as everyone should be in any crime because of due process.- 189 replies

Article: Photographer Accuses Miguel Sano Of Assault
T_J replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Um... whom was her "boss" at this signing? Was she volunteering as a TD photographer for the signing? Is this the first time TD has heard this happen? Why did she believe that TD has been stripped of access giving her the freedom to finally tell her story? I am skeptical by Nature. I need more from a state made years after the fact to believe something is true. I'm not saying it isn't. It sounds exaggerated and it also sounds like the events are choppy. I've worked many security details for many autograph sessions and have never let the signer walk to their car (one of the most vulnerable points in any situation) or even around the mall without the detail near. Plus, we have Sano's former agent near by, probably also going in the same car? He is just going to stand there for 10 minutes and watch one of his prized clients commit a crime? We also have her boss right there just watching? So we have two other people right there not to mention a security detail a driver for the car and no one is saying a thing to Sano? I get even more skeptical the large amount of people that have to keep their mouths shut and the amount of people here is getting large. Again, I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm saying it sounds exaggerated at the least.- 189 replies

Article: Winter Meetings: Reliever Roulette
T_J replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It's completely obtuse to believe that they don't need to added proven bullpen arms. Injuries will occur. Underproduction will occur. They need to add high quality addition. People here are worried about the cost? If they have another winning season fans will start buying tickets and actually going to games again. The cost will be covered by winning. -

That trade would be near dream come true. It would sting, but it seems really close to reasonable by both sides. One thing that I wouldn't be sure about is Krililoff. I know around here we seem to adore our hometown kids, but I don't see that in other places as often.- 169 replies
