  1. I've discovered that on my phone and iPad that it's far too easy to accidentally mark a forum as read.
  2. Missing a good one what?
  3. I've been told that I'm handling the bail money. I'm going shopping.
  4. Actually, yeah. But home for a week between.
  5. Wtg Dozier. Am just getting back to my room after an 80 minute painfully excellent massage. I love vacation. Have the game on now so hopefully the Twins don't ruin that massage. Oh, and room service on the way, too. Did I say it already? I love vacations
  6. Lol. Okay, I don't shop at garage sales. What are you saying? And yes, I'm live in Mpls right now, on the banks of the Mississippi, thinking about renting one of those nice bikes, or whatever they are called.
  7. And maybe him getting out there is why.
  8. Fine use of emotion with those exclamation marks, GCTF!
  9. Lingering concussion symptoms. They want him recovered for Arizona Fall League. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/444513/byron-buxton-(concussion)-out-for-season
  10. Heh ... nope ... I'm very much a last-minute packer, and also very systematic about it. And I can pack in an hour, everything ... clothes, shoes, jewelry, other accessories, toiletries, outerwear ... done.
  11. Trying to clean and do laundry and pack with the game on, too.
  12. Game-time forecast: Cloudy with a 60-percent chance of rain. Winds blowing out to left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 80. ROYALS: SP, Vargas Aoki RF Infante 2B Perez C Butler 1B Gordon LF Willingham DH Moustakas 3B Escobar SS Dyson CF TWINS: SP, May Santana CF Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Vargas DH Arcia RF Plouffe 3B Parmelee LF Fryer C Escobar SS ---------------------------------- Okay, Brian ... I know you are on vacation from work ... but this isn't work, right? ---------------------------------- Not on Vacation Yet... But Soon... I'm heading to Minneapolis Thursday for a long weekend... rest and relaxation... having a good time... Doin The Pub Crawl and As much Twins Baseball as I can cram into a whatever you cram these things into. Things to Think About: 1. Rainy Days and Monday -- They always get Karen Carpenter Down... At least that is what she sang. As for me... Meh... A Monday is just a Monday. I work 6 to 7 days a week... Monday simply isn't different enough to bother me. Rain on the other hand... Rain can bug me... Especially if I just washed my Car. This is today's first thought because Monday is normally a day off or the start of a new series. Not this Monday... Today... It's game 4 of this epic battle with the Royals. And... And... Rain is coming toward Target Field. Yesterday we had rain delays before getting the game in... So I went shopping and when I got back... The Twins were so far down that I didn't bother to watch the end. And I missed a Hammer and Vargas blast. I blame the rain. 2. The Royals -- After the Weekend... I'm tired of them... I want the Royals to win the AL Central... I don't want the Tigers to win it... I also want the Twins to win... So I'd like both teams to win and this makes me very conflicted. It's best if the Royals just leave town so I can clearly cheer for the Twins... This is not the only thing in life that makes me conflicted. The list of things that make me conflicted is posted at thingsthatmakeriverbrianconflicted.com. 3. Vargas vs Vargas -- I hope you bought your Tickets for Vargas vs Vargas. It should be much more entertaining than Kramer vs Kramer. Kansas City lefthander Jason Vargas takes the mound for Kansas CIty. He will have to square off against Kennys Vargas and how it turns out is anyone's guess... Tune in to find out. Just so you know... They are not related. Jason was born in California and Kenny plural was born in Puerto Rico. The Synergy between dueling Vargas's will be measured. Rumor has it that a ball hit by a Vargas off a Vargas will travel 23 percent further. 4. Danny Santana -- He's back in CF... Escobar is back at SS... That one day thing only lasted a day. 5. Careers -- My son told me last night that he was thinking about becoming a comedian and I laughed at him. Today... I wonder if my laughing was taken as encouragement. .
  13. That's where 'veteran presence' can lead by example. Then again, it likely has nothing to do with 'veteran,' just who the guy is.
  14. I had that same thought. That whatever was 'plaguing' his mind was now clear. As you said, he looks ... different. Concussion? Uncertainty of a new position? Best bud gone? Don't know what, or maybe a combination of everything, but he looks ... MUCH better.
  15. Heh, that's me ... age 3? 4? And while you can't really see it, that's a Twin's sweatshirt I'm wearing ... 1965 AL Champs.
  16. Geez ... leave for a few minutes and it's 6-1! it's amazing how fast things change.
  17. Radar looks like stuff coming in soon.
  18. Yeah, behemoth ... good word for him. I've seen him at ST. Things clearing up there? The radar looks like more coming in.
  19. Didn't delve that deep ... as I'm at work ... bored ... as we're packing up for vacay.
  20. Perspective is always helpful, despite the similar records. Thanks.
  21. Okay, so, you are mixing your operas here, Brian. That famous Figaro line you speak of really comes from Rossini's 'Barber of Seville,' so it works with the Bugs Bunny thing. And maybe you knew that already, hence the tie in to Bugs. (Which I approve wholeheartedly, btw; I love me some Bugs and all the music that was used by Warner Bros/Looney Tunes cartoons.) Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, well, the opening to that is heard in the movie 'Trading Places' with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroid. I like that movie; still can laugh at it and with it.
