    How much more rope does lopez get to be closer considering the time of year? SSS but Something seems off with him considering how dominant he was for pretty much the entire year in Baltimore. Duran has not been perfect but he’s been pretty darn steady all year. I would trust him more in the closer role

    To be fair, Lopez could just be going through a little blip at the time since his numbers were excellent (outside of playing the twins). Maybe it’s the target field mound!

    He’s just not been really great since coming here. Tonight was his 7th appearance since being traded. 5 save opportunities, 2 blown saves and a tightroper tonight. 8 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings. Especially interesting when duran goes out and just dominates as usual.

    But I thought rocco and company don’t really believe in the closer role? Not arguing with you, I’ve just been told a zillion times on this site that that closer role isn’t really important. I personally would ride the hot hand in that role (I believe that closers are important), and to me, duran has been steady Eddie all year
