    It was a fun read but Seth I'm onto you being a sleeper agent for the Twins. Based on this article, I expect no less than 3 trips to the World Series over the next 6 years or so.

    I think this board is giving way to much credit for how much a manager is worth in terms of wins. At absolute most it's give or take 2 wins over the course of a season. Unless you're Gardy and insist on having 3 catchers at all times and you want to start Jason Bartlett in center field. Personally, I'd just prefer a manager I like and Paul is nothing if not amiable.

    You do realize that Santana is 34 and has an FIP of nearly 5 correct? Couple that with a $14 million salary. If we can get one top 100 prospect for him it would be a bigger upset than Douglas over Tyson.

    FYI. Plouffe was a -0.4 in WAR last year and was set to earn a yuuuuuge amount of money. I'm zero percent shocked we weren't able to get anything for him. That being said, he was a standup guy and won a few fantasy baseball weeks for me a couple years back. Wish him the best.

    This review really depressed me. Even with the graduations, it seems like our vaunted farm system that has propped up hopes for 4+ years has been, at the minimum, "overrated".

    The Indians have 7 prospects in the top 71. Considering their team controlled starting rotation until 2018 and their winning baseball now, they're going to be a tough team to beat.

    This topic scratches me right where I itch. May is AWESOME. If we keep him at reliever he's worth a 1 WAR per year. Now put him at starter...that could be a horse of a different color. This is the time to do it! Nothing to lose. Build for the future. This season takes me back to Notre Dame football in 2004. I'm a die hard Irish fan. But I knew Ty Willingham was an absolute ish coach. So rather than rooting for Irish wins against mediocre opponents and enduring 31 point blow outs by USC (3 years in a row), I started, just on the inside, hoping the Irish would lose so Ty would get fired. I think that's where we are at now. If the Twins rally and climb close to .500 we still have totally inept leadership and horrific decisionmakers. If we totally fail, clean house. Find people who actually look at all the data that is availible today rather than going on "the ball sounds different off his bat" logic. Plus as a bonus we'll get a top 3 pick. In the last decade has anybody felt that Minnesota may have some baseball intelligence that other teams have missed on? Hint: The answer is no.

    Mastrioianni is my favorite player. Can run, good glove, hit a little, see some pitches. He plays the game the right way. He's also a good clubhouse guy which sounds like what this team needs now that Hunter left. Nobody is dancing anymore. I say bring up Mastrioianni and give Buxton and maybe Sano some more seasoning in the minors. We have some games to make up. Can't let the lead get to big with teams like the Royals and White Sox.

    After 3 years of coming to this site on a daily basis, I finally was compelled to create an account just to say that Jim Souhan is THE WORST! It's amazing how I can disagree with his position in every single article. I was neutral on calling up Buxton but once Souhan said it was a good idea, I'm firmly against the notion. Boy that felt good.
