  1. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. I think the manager should be able to use any player in any position at any time, except of course if a player has already been removed from the game.
  2. How? I don't like the idea of just giving a batter first base. The pitcher needs to actually throw the pitches. And even so, that would save, what, 30 seconds? And my guess is a typical a team issues maybe one IBB per week. I don't think that's significant.
  3. I appreciate the time and effort you put in to do the research, but my comments were about facing only one batter.
  4. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. And it's not that often that a pitcher faces only one batter. I'm not going to take the time to look it up but I bet it's only a couple times a week in all of MLB.
  5. Based on what? I don't get that feeling.
  6. Dang, I guess splitting with the Sox is not bad but today's game was winnable. All part of the learning curve for the youngsters, I suppose. Just gotta keep in mind that Sano is only 23 and Buxton is only 22. I'm guessing that 4 years from now their contributions to today's loss will become contributions in the other direction.
  7. Centeno can take off on the pitch, which means he'll probably be able to stay ahead of Buck
  8. Dude is only 23. In 4 years he could easily improve his defense enough to be the best overall 3B in the game. The growing pains are painful, though, eh?
  9. 4 unearned runs on this one. He owes us 4 dingers this game.
  10. Sano. Again. Dandruff. Again. If he can hit a home run for every error he commits we'll break even.
  11. That slide at second was almost exactly like Nunez' last night. Difference being Twins didn't challenge, which may have been just as well, because if the call on Nunez had been upheld they wouldn't have been able to challenge the call at home on the Vargas slide, which turned out to be a key moment in the game-winning rally.
  12. Depends on how far back you are throwing. I think any uniforms worn between about 1970 and about 1987 should be off limits. In about 2000 the Twins and the A's had a throwback day to about 1915. I thought the uni's looked OK but there were two errors: One, at that time players didn't have numbers on their jerseys. Two, Art Howe did not wear a suit like Connie Mack did when he was manager. Now that would have been cool.
  13. Well, he was involved in 5 hits while batting.
  14. Did we really think this would be easy?
  15. On four pitches. By a left-handed pitcher.
  16. 3) Vargas makes a ballet move to tie the game.
  17. Now that's a seeing-eye single. Right between Price's legs.
  18. Sano nice grab of that popup. As usual
  19. Looks like Nunez made a good swim move. Too bad there was no good camera angle.
  20. Twins knocking David Price around, as usual
