  1. Or Jeffers. Vazquez time again. He will now have started 35 games at catcher to Jeffers 29. There is no possible defense for that.
  2. Possible, but really it's more likely there's nothing much they can do/say at the moment. They signed the deal they signed. They can't get out of it unless the bankruptcy court voids it (unlikely). It is what it is for the rest of this season. The Twins have very little say. They made their bed and are being forced to lie in it. If they come back yet again in 2025 they will have no one else to blame.
  3. There's no longer any excuse to DH Jeffers, so I was hoping Vazquez could be limited to one game per series which should have been the case all along.
  4. No. I believe the Yankees have a lefty tomorrow and Rocco won't play Lewis 2 days in a row to start. So I expect Vazquez to catch tomorrow too with Jeffers DH'ing, Margot and Farmer in the line-up etc.
  5. Swingin Vazquez in the line-up tonight (and probably tomorrow). It's his turn and those are the rules.
  6. It's his turn! How will get his 80 starts at catcher and 350 AB's if we start messing with the rotation?
  7. AB's during the 7-game losing streak: Margot: 15 Vazquez: 13 Farmer: 11 Total 39 Kepler: 16 Larnach: 13 Julien: 18 Total 47 After tonight, group A will likely have more AB's. But why is the offense struggling?
  8. Kepler's OPS against lefties is over 1.000. So is Larnach's though only 4 AB's because he's never allowed a chance. Doesn't matter. Margot simply MUST start. Meanwhile swingin' Vazquez is starting for the 2nd game in a row and will probably start on Friday and Sunday because it's his "turn." He's starting the majority of the games this week for no reason. He should start once per series period. This is getting beyond ridiculous.
  9. The platoon should be limited to Castro in LF or at 2B and at most ONE of Farmer or Margot for Kiriloff/Larnach/Julien. Not all 3 of them and not giving Vazquez 15 ABs per week. Vazquez should be catching one game per series and that's it. Kepler should be in the line-up every day period. Obviously DFA'ing Margot and Vazquez would be preferable.
  10. This is why firing Rocco without firing Falvey is pointless. The manager is told who to start and which relievers will be used every day at 2:00 by the analytics department. He is mostly just an observer.
  11. Kick Falvey and Rocco to the curb. Let Thad and Toby finish the year. DFA the pathetic vets (Vazquez, Margot, Farmer). Hold SOMEONE accountable for this dead@ss team.
  12. If I were playing the Twins, I would call up any breathing lefty on my 40 man and start them. It's an automatic benching of Kepler, Larnach and Julien for Margot, Vazquez and Farmer.
  13. Cleveland is just better than the Twins. They play defense. They get runners over. They actually play their best hitters every day instead of sitting them on the bench to platoon someone hitting .180 because a spreadsheet says to do so.
  14. -Start holding players accountable for mental lapses and poor play. -Stop being a slave to your spreadsheet and giving Vazquez, Margot and Farmer 40 AB's a week.
  15. By what metric exactly? MLB's TV situation is a mess, but I'm not convinced that taking all games exclusively to a streaming service like Apple, as MLS did, is the way to grow the game with the masses. Only hardcore fans are paying to watch those games now.
  16. True I guess. But Peacock isn't really competing with Diamond. They're competing with Apple/Roku on packages of national games. I haven't seen any indication they would get into the regional broadcasting of games.
  17. We've beaten the Yankees 49 times? I call BS.
  18. Sure but is Comcast involved with any of the above? My point was, I don't think they are trying to kill Diamond so they an swoop and and launch Comcast SportsNet Minnesota etc. I don't believe they have any intention of launching any new regular RSN's.
  19. You had to pay. And 60 days later, like 70% of the people who signed up for Peacock were still subscribed. That's exactly why they did it. It worked. The NFL just sold exclusive Christmas Day games to Netflix. This isn't going away. They only thing they haven't changed (for now) is that all local games air on an over-the-air affiliate. But that's only MSP for the Vikings. Not Duluth, Rochester, Sioux Falls etc.
  20. Not really. Yes Comcast has a handful of RSN's but I seriously doubt they're looking to expand them. Theirs will also be dead eventually. They make their $$ off internet services and secondarily cable. The sports networks are an afterthought that probably lose $$.
  21. Rocco's insistence on 50/50 split of the catching duties and absolute deference to platooning are so frustrating. Dozens of ABs taken away from Kepler/Larnach and given to Margot/Vazquez.
  22. Midco is Comcast for this purpose (just with much better customer service). Comcast owns like 49% of Midco and they are linked for all negotiations with national networks. Anytime a network goes dark on Comcast, it goes dark on Midco too.
