  1. You guys see the look of surprise Bruno gives Mauer as he comes to the dugout after his HR? Pretty funny stuff.
  2. He's got the glove below the knees. But, you're right, he should put it in the dirt the way Pelfrey is throwing.
  3. What are the Royals charging for tonight's BP?
  4. Wait, no error? That hit is glove! This may be a night I change the channel before it's over.
  5. Unless somone else heats up they don't have a legit lead off anyway, but otherwise I'd think moving him down is the way to go.
  6. My question was basically how much longer might a player called up from AA be able to continue at this kind of pace?
  7. Say Hicks doesn't show marked improvement (stays below a .150 AVG, strikes out 40% of his ABs). How long does this last? He is tied for most strikeouts in the entire major leagues, and is in the bottom 5 for almost every category. I'm not saying they should do anything now (other than give him a freakin' day off somehow), but what are the thoughts on how long this can go on?
  8. He does? It's very disappointing to me that the team isn't in a situation to give him more playing time. He's the best overall middle infielder on the team, but with the team pretty much needing to see Dozier, Florimon, Escobar, there's just not a place for him to get that regular time.
  9. I need some help as to why that wasn't an error. Clearly hit his glove.
  10. I actually think this is exactly it. His comments often defend the moves made by the team, either directly or indirectly. More OT: Did anyone else think the whole giving away a Kevin Slowey signed ball came off as a bit -- almost rude?
  11. Agreed. Why haven't we called up Arcia, Rosario, Sano, and Buxton yet?
  12. Because there's no reason those balls shouldn't have been caught. On another note, boy, am I glad we traded JJ Hardy. I heard that we got some great baseballs for him.
  13. Bah, Mauer dropped that because he foresaw a doubleplay two pitches later. #Babyjesus
  14. He's made some nice plays out there for sure. Hard to know if he's making it look more spectacular because he's a bit slower out there, or if he's better than most of us thought. However, he has gotten the ball in quickly, made a nice play and doesn't look to have misjudged anything so far.
  15. Aaron Hicks, welcome to 2B!
  16. First time I've seen him clearly let the calls get to him.....3-0 to Hammer...doubt we'll see one grooved, but let's hope.
  17. Another missed call. I don't normally get down on the umpires, but this has been pretty rough, though they may have missed an out on Doumit earlier when he was trying to get back to first. That may make 3 missed calls by that 1B ump...(two on Doums and check-swing)
  18. I've not been on board with Dozier being the answer in the MI, but I gotta say I love how he plays 2B.
  19. I don't know exactly but 2011 he had a lot of trouble from the left side, which caused a lot of talk to have him move to all righty. Supposedly that changed last year.
  20. I think there have been two costly missed calls that cost the Twins 3 total runs, both from Jones's at bats: The non-foul ball and the non-strike check swing.
  21. That's nice of him to make that concession to Hicks, but Mauer has enough bat control to at least put the ball in play even on that.
  22. Great speed to beat that out.
  23. Pitchers that can locate breaking balls and fastballs probably don't stay in AA for long. Also, Hicks struck out a lot there, too.
