  1. "You don't need guys pulling in solid money like Milone, Nolasco etc as your 7th/8th starters" Nolasco is pulling in YOUR solid money WHEREVER HE PITCHES! (or bags groceries) You may as well use him, if you can't lose him.
  2. Check out the delivery of Carter Capps of the Miami Marlins. Umpires have yet to rule this a violation to my knowledge....See link below. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/21753540/v73287783/miaatl-capps-hopstep-delivery-analyzed
  3. No. Adam Walker Rule 5 comparables are players who were protected from Rule V. Clemente, Hamilton, Bautista and Bonilla were drafted because they weren't protected from Rule V. Walker will not be drafted, because he WILL be protected on the 40-man roster. If he is not protected, I will post my mea culpa.
  4. Jose Bautista Bobby Bonilla
  5. Adam Brett Walker's power can't be transferred to another hitter. Speed and power are difficult to teach. If the Twins risk losing him, while trying to protect a marginal AA reliever, that decision would be BEYOND justification!
  6. " it should be noted that corner OFs are very rare Rule 5 picks" It also should be noted that Roberto Clemente was a corner OF who was the best Rule 5 pick EVER!!!!
  7. I am unable to tolerate someone being proud of me. I believe that is called "bi-lateral frontal lobe weakness".
  8. Gonsalves (along with Kohl Stewart and Brian Navaretto) don't need Rule V protection until 2017 because they were signed as 18-yr-olds in 2013. The college signees (19 and older) have to be protected in 2016.
  9. Thank yuh, thank yuh verah much! Has any one seen mah peanut-butter and buhnana sandwich?
  10. If defense were the only issue at catcher, the Twins have three decent minor league catchers. (Garver, Turner and Navaretto) If one of them can hit MLB pitching, we'll be covered in 2017.
  11. The first thing Arcia needs to do is lose ten pounds off his upper body with a good haircut.
  12. I thought the "elephant in the room" was someone NEVER mentioned EVER!. Joe would never qualify for that title.
  13. Rub some dirt on it!
  14. Berrios is not eligible for the Rule V draft, so he does not need to be protected. After the Rule V draft, he can be added to the 40-man roster, and one of the roster players who NEEDED protection can be optioned off the 40-man at that time. Berrios would need to be protected from RuleV loss next year, but I assume that he will already be on the 40-man (and in the rotation) at that time.
  15. Who are all rumored to be on Terry Ryan's acquisition wish list, by-the-way.
  16. So have Timmy Lupus (Bad News Bears!); Ricky Vaughn (Wild Thing!); Ebbie LaLoosh (Bull Durham!) AND "Ed, The Baseball Playing Chimp"!
  17. "Good point on Graham, and besides, I don't think the Twins kept him on the 25 man roster all season just to cut him loose after the season was over" IMO, now that the Twins (and the other MLB teams) have learned Graham's limitations, he could clear waivers and be signed to a Twins minor league contract. That was not an option until his RuleV status had expired.
  18. Orlando Hudson Wayne Terwilliger
  19. The result would be to play nine players in fair territory and to let un-hit pitches roll to the backstop.
  20. Some other team might take Walker, just because they have a hitting coach that thinks he can make him an MLB hitter, because he thinks he is a better hitting coach than Walker has had up to now. And he may have already spotted a flaw in Walker's mechanics or approach that can be fixed. Remember David Ortiz?
  21. As long as he is signed AFTER the rule V draft.
  22. Yes. Berrios can be promoted onto the MLB roster whenever he is judged ready. (last September?) He is most certainly going to be promoted before the Rule V draft, in December 2016, or the Twins would most certainly lose him.
  23. My bad! Zach Jones is a RHP.
  24. I think Darnell is unnecessary because Jones, Rogers, and Meloutakis are all LHP, who are generally more highly rated prospects.
