  1. Drop Gaetti, move Killebrew to 3b, and put Carew circa 1977 at 1b.
  2. I guess you had to be there.
  3. The answer is, "I really like this kid".
  4. Nice, but in the spirit of Calvin's legendary "generosity".
  5. I don't think it was just yours.

  7. Re: Polanco's youth. How many of you old timers remember the Calvin Griffith/Butch Wynegar ad in which Wynegar says he loves baseball so much he'd play for free? Griffith's response was.......?
  8. Polanco-mania! (spell check came up with "Polaroid-mania)
  9. 6 up, 6 down against a starter with ERA ~ 6. This should end well.
  10. I got a "Solar City" free quote offer.

  13. That reminds me of my favorite "Angry Beavers" episode. One of the brothers wants to become a Lipizzanner stallion and goes to Vienna for basic training. Once he gets there he finds out the drill sergeant for the stallions calls anyone who is not hustling a "lolleyganger".
  14. Nothing like some clutch pitching once in a while.
  15. As someone once famously said, "See ball, hit ball".
  16. Twins ad from a few years ago -- Tony Oliva's secret to hitting: "See ball, hit ball".
  17. What do you mean "again"?
  18. It certainly helps that when you look at a lineup that has at least three regulars/semi-regulars batting at or above .300, a bunch around.250, and only one below .200. Last year was beyond dreadful. Oh, and not being behind 4-0 after two innings every other game is a nice change also.
