    Couldn't agree more. That's baseball. No matter how good a manager is, they run their course and time comes for change. The same ole same ole just gets old and stale. Players don't respond, etc. Definitely time for a change.

    Backups are backups because they're not good enough to be starters. I think everyday players should play everyday. They can rest when the season is over. Sunday lineups and get away day lineups are disgusting to me.

    If Burnett and Robertson still have options, use them. They've been terrible and don't deserve to make the team. Go with Roenicke and Walters.

    Boras lamenting the integrity of the game? He should talk. Baseball players have the best CBA in all of sports. No cap. Ridiculous contracts EVERYWHERE. Maybe teams realize Lohse is barely above mediocre and not worth giving ridiculous money. Or maybe teams just don't like his agent.

    So is this kid the real deal? Is he the next Greg Gagne? What kind of time frame are we looking at for his major league debut? 2015 at the earliest? I have high hopes for the kid. I've heard nothing but positives.

    I definitely think we can expect 20 & 75. I expect Mauer to be the future 1st baseman, so Parmelee's future is in RF or on another team. Hopefully he puts up good numbers giving the Twins flexibility to trade either him or Arcia to fill pitching/middle infield needs.

    I love Steinbach and Brunansky. They TRULY played the game the "right way". Can't wait for Molitor to eventually join the coaching staff, or better yet, replace Gardy. I'd also love to see Blyleven or Morris eventually be pitching coach.

    1. Plouffe will suck, and Sano will be the 3rd baseman in 2014. 2. Carroll will play over 150 games. 3. Mauer will physically break down and blame it on the WBC. 4. May, Meyer, or Berrios will have Tommy John surgery. 5. De Vries will lead the pitching staff in wins.

    He's physically weak. He's mentally weak. Thank goodness he's gone.

    It basically means he's picking up where he left off last season.

    They should announce him the everyday DH immediately, and put this distraction to an end. Lets see if he can make it through 2012 at DH, then revisit him playing 1st base in 2013. Baby steps. Playing 1st base just increases the odds he'll get hurt again. All he'd have to worry about would be swinging the bat and running the bases, and he could be cautious on the basepaths (no more hard takeout slides). If they're smart enough to DH him, I like his chances. There are plenty of other options at 1st base (Doumit, Mauer, Plouffe, Parmelee).
