  1. Answer: "I suck as an editor."
  2. Ah, the wind is not playing sides. Thank you, wind. But do you suck.
  3. Brian, The trick on riding an overnight Amtrak train is to take your blanket and pillow into the observation room and lie on the floor with everyone else. Yours truly, Ace
  4. I have an idea: MLB should go NFL on us - 9 DHs. More jobs for more players. Better quality on the field. I kid. But do I?
  5. I do think Schwarber's injury is a cautionary tale, whether Sano gets injured in the future or not. Schwarber is a HITTER, not an athlete who belongs in left field. He is therefore going to be prone to accidents, whether running into people or into walls, or just getting twisted up with the grass. And I have to think with speed-demon-mad-man-get-them-all Buxton patrolling centerfield, a collision with Sano one day is "more likely" than "less likely." What thinks thee, Seth?
  6. Watching the first game reminded me all over again how fluid this lineup is going to be in the long haul. "Experiments" - such as Sano in right field, or can Buxton hit MLB pitching - I felt I had no business criticizing too harshly in the offseason because I wasn't there in the room with the people making the decisions about players whose performance I don't know intimately. That said, here we are, "meaningful games," so we may, as fans, begin our critical assessments.
  7. Answer: He's so good with the glove he should try hitting with it. Or is that illegal? (Sorry, I just got out of bed in AZ).
  8. I think it was Jean-Paul Sartre who said that.
  9. A Beatles inspired play? Let me think. Pschedelic curveball? John Paul to George double play?
  10. I just read all the comments at once. Now I'm exhausted.
  11. Don't you have a refrigerated drawer in your desk to store your beer? Sheesh.
  12. I would have written "manure spreadin," but that's probably just me
  13. Welcome aboard the New Baseball Season, everyone. I hope you're all stretched out and ready to go. Bring your best every day, even if your best is just typing in some lame (I mean funny) comments. Twins Daily is the place to be! (sung to the Green Acres tune?)
  14. Maybe if someone was a kid during the Metrodome era they will prefer the Metrodome, but for those of us older persons who remember the Met and the grass and the sunshine and rain we thought that felt a lot like our own backyards multiplied by millions ... ah, so great (and rinky-dink in retrospect, but oh well).
  15. Sandy Vadespino! Yes, we could make a list of great-SOUNDING Twins who more often than not sucked. Bombo Rivera! Willie Norwood!
  16. In two years at AA Eddie R. had a OBP of .302. I don't think this problem is going to magically fix itself. And while at outstanding defender, he has shown lapses (routes? effort? Not sure exactly sure what it is). Therefore if Rosario is the most exciting Twin we are in trouble. As always, I wish him and the team the best - may he have an OPB of .350 and prove me wrong.
  17. I enjoyed your lists. Nice work.
  18. I hadn't found anyone who predicted them to wins. That's news. Yeah, sure, those predictions are rarely, if ever, correct. The Twins have been picked to finish and finished first, etc. So has every team. Thanks for finding two.
  19. I will give 500 fake dollars to anyone who can find a website, blog, newspaper, sportscaster, priest, rabbi, shaman, or imam who has predicted the Twins to win the AL Central this year! If anyone has picked the Twins I think TD should send them a dozen fake red roses, what do you think?
  20. The simplest ones are the best ones.
