  1. I had my pet monkey vote for me.
  2. Because he was being aggressive. If he gets a hit we're happy.
  3. Time to bring up Polanco and let him play shortstop. Please.
  4. Until it's not fun. Then it will be again. And so on.
  5. I am disappointed that he hasn't gotten to play in the field. Come on. Don't make a young strong man suffer through a day of about 10 minutes of action and all the rest waiting around.
  6. I looked on Baseball Reference and there doesn't seem to be a category for saves with 2 run leads. Anyone?
  7. This is where your veteran research abilities come into play.
  8. Is everyone presuming that Perkins will get the Save? Yes. But he has to blow one sometime. His historical average is below 90%. I am predicting nothing. Nothing I says.
  9. "Over the last 50 years, home team winning percentage has been around .539 on average." http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/352 So yes there is a statistical mess there to untangle.
  10. Your stat is more up to date than mine (.531). I see that one year the home team won .575 of the time. That's a huge, natural advantage.
  11. A note about extra innings game. The home team, on average, wins extra innings game .531 of the time. This is logical, as we know, because the home team literally gets to bat AFTER the visiting team scores or doesn't score, EVERY TIME. http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/155 (and surely there are other sources for this type of statistic)
  12. I love watching Molitor manage. He put five infielders in last night, and wasn't that great? The front office, in tandem with the pitching coach and manager, need to address the bullpen, but that doesn't mean Molitor sucks as a manager!
  13. Sano can get down the line in a hurry for a big man. I was very impressed.
  14. That was mean of you to make me look at that link. Shame on you.
  15. I will not eat my words. I won't.
  16. There is also Dylan's "He made it to Kansas City Twelfth Street and Vine Nothin' standing there High water everywhere" Sounds ominous for the first place Royals.
  17. I want to see new blood, er players. My interest in this team is fragile. When Buxton was called up I watched each of his at bats with keen interest. Yes, most of his ABs were disappointing, but I kept watching. For the same reason, I want to see Sano, and eventually Kepler. They may or not be the Lord Jesus Christ Saviors of the Minnesota Twins, but I can't help but hope for the ultimate ceiling out of each of each top prospects. Usually they don't pan out, but sometimes they do.
  18. Fish sandwiches at the base of the Galata Bridge. Yum.
  19. RE the Gomez trade. If we had kept JJ, the trade would have been a good one for us. Instead, coming off '10, Gardenhire wanted more "speed," and so they got rid of slow-footed Hardy. A damn foolhardy move if you ask me.
  20. Yes, I did the math. He would have had to give up 41 runs. (I'm probably wrong about that, too!)
  21. Oops. I got it straight off "Gameday." Don't believe everything you read, obviously.
