  1. I'm not the biggest TR fan, but picking up Jepsen looks like it was a very good move. But I'll still miss Dr. Hu...
  2. Actually, I've got a great Ramen recipe that I call "Faux Pho." I will reveal this secret next game, if I remember.
  3. Buxton is lunging at the ball. Very awkward looking. Needs to keep his weight back and crouch lower, more like Ricky Henderson.
  4. Trevor May dropping Uncle Charlies like he's been taking notes from Tyler Duffey. Big benders from the bull pen!
  5. Trevor May looks really good. I'm glad Roy Smalley acknowledged his contributions and his development as a pitcher. May really has learned to nail the corners much better since he hit the pen.
  6. The one thing I really miss about Gomez is the unreasonable joy he gets from a simple fly ball catch in center field. The guy really knows how to enjoy every moment of baseball. Captain Chaos, Mr. Drama.
  7. I save my pro tips for the cool kids.
  8. The Twins are crapping out the worst bunts I've seen in years. National League pitchers do it better.
  9. Perkins threw the best sliders I've seen from him in a couple months.
  10. Sometimes you can find a little dark ball of something under the chicken. I think that's the liver, but I've never been sure...
  11. You have done well, sir. To get the full 10 of 10 from such a meal, make another! Actually, I spice 'em up with a few shakes of Tony Cachere Creole Seasoning. Ever notice that the fried chicken is greasy and nasty, but almost irresistible? I figure it's the spermaceti...
  12. Stir those potatoes sir, or risk the consequences of inhomogeneous distribution of heat, flavor, and texture!
  13. A weighty problem that we have all faced at one time or another, and another in our lives. And another. I hear rumors that some people deviate from these instructions regarding plastic film, but that's just hearsay. Personally I never deviate from instructions. Another important question about Hungry Man TV dinners: We have seen the price of crude oil oscillate dramatically this year, yet the price of Hungry Man has remained essentially unchanged. Given the amount of oil left in the bottom of the tin, how is this possible?
  14. Eduardo Nunez seems to get better the more he's benched. Odd...
  15. So, the Twins get to play the Astros, but Perkins isn't available, Sano has a hammy... Where's the power supposed to come from? Escobar?
  16. Sadly, I agree with your point about Turner. He needs a lot more work before he's ready to face mlb pitchers. Meanwhile, this upcoming series is liable to be a stark reminder why it's a good idea to have a catcher that can throw out more than 15 percent of base stealers.
  17. "Their strategy for scoring runs involves stealing tons of bases (they have swiped an AL-leading 97 bags) and hitting dingers (174). The two game plans (running wild and swinging for the fences) don’t jive considering that the kind of fence-clearing power could score a runner from any base." This could be an ominous sign for Mike Pelfrey, who has not looked good against aggressive base-stealing teams. Pelfrey seems to get flustered by the green light on first, and gets frustrated when they steal successfully. He starts rushing his motion, then loses command. Could be a long day Saturday. Also it doesn't help that Twins catchers almost never throw out base stealers. This is why I wanted to call up Stewart Turner, even if the guy's bat is a wet noodle. At least Turner has a legitimate gun behind the plate. Against a team like Houston, that could make more of a difference than a hole in the hitting lineup. Butera 2.0 would look pretty good right now.
  18. I'd call up Berrios right now. First, he's reportedly a workout warrior with no signs of arm fatigue. Second, he could be part of a surprise Twins run in the playoffs this year. As fans, we follow baseball for the vicarious adventure of it. This is a chance to see JO Berrios have an early career adventure, to be part of a world-shocking, unexpected run by a newly emerging Minnesota Twins. I would love to see Berrios pitching, supported by Rosario, Buxton, Hicks, Kepler, Vargas, etc. Would that not be glorious? Would you not be entertained?? Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! Drummer, water skiing speed!
  19. Yikes, I keep forgetting that! If Ervin Santana is gone for the playoffs, the Twins will need a good replacement. Nobody better than JO Berrios for that, so they might as well get him up now, so he can get past his first game jitters.
