  1. I'll list mine in the order of my first appearance at each! 1994 - Kaufman Stadium (Mariners @ Royals) 1996 - Metrodome (Athletics @ Twins) 2006 - Miller Park (Twins @ Brewers) 2007 - Yankee Stadium (Twins @ Yankees) 2007 - RFK Stadium (Cubs @ Nationals) 2008 - Wrigley Field (Orioles @ Cubs) 2010 - Target Field (Cardinals @ Twins) 2010 - Rogers Centre (Rays @ Blue Jays) 2011 - CitiField (Giants @ Mets) 2011 - Fenway Park (Twins @ Red Sox) 2011 - Minute Maid Park (Brewers @ Astros) Also been to AT&T Park, Chase Field, Comerica Park, and Busch Stadium but not for MLB games.
  2. Side note, I really enjoy your avatar, powrwrap.
  3. His HR in the '93 All-Star Game stands out as a favorite memory. I was growing up in South Dakota when Puck was playing, and never went to a game or was rarely even able to see on TV as we didn't have MSC at the time, so my memories are mostly what I heard on the radio through John Gordon, or the rare locally televised games like that AS Game. I later met him at a Twins Caravan in Huron, SD and took a photo together.
  4. The only remaining "classic" park I haven't seen is Dodger Stadium, so I suppose I'd have to choose it. And of course Miami has me intrigued with some of the wild previews I've seen.
  5. I created a few Twins quizzes on Sporcle a while back and thought I'd link to them here. They're still relevant and updated! 6. That's a very even bet, in my estimation. I am involved in a bet at my office between several co-workers who hail from various cities across the country as to whose team will be worst. Involved are me (Twins), and fans of the Pirates, Astros, Padres, and Cubs. The team with the best record of the five must buy the others dinner. I sure hope I lose that bet and buy the dinners.
  7. These are two of the stadiums I most want to see and I have definitely looked into this. But it would not be a road trip for me... it would be flying into one city, renting a car for the drive between the two, and flying out of the other (I'm in TX).
  8. Maybe it's because I'm always so drunk and the Twins have traditionally won when I've visited, but Miller Park holds a special place on my list of stadiums visited. It looks completely different in person than on TV, moreso than any other stadium, in my opinion.
  9. I'm sure that injuries will play a role early and whatever bench leaves Fort Myers will change within two weeks. I love the idea of having a Thome-like veteran bat off the bench. I think if Bill Smith were still in charge, the Twins would have a Derrek Lee or Vlad Guerrero type in camp. As it is, I tend to think that Sean Burroughs has the lead for the final bench spot.
  10. Obviously this game isn't TV-worthy, but overall I'm disappointed in the lack of Twins TV coverage in Spring Training. I have MLB.TV and I went through the schedule and checked, and the Twins have the fewest televised spring games in the majors with just 6, and I believe half of those are from the opponents' broadcasts. The ones FSN does carry are weekday day games. The Phillies by comparison have 23 telecasts. I imagine FSN is already jam-packed with Wolves and Wild games though.
  11. I'm not much of a traditionalist when it comes to things like realignment, expanded playoffs, instant replay, or interleague play. In my opinion, whatever adds more excitement is for the best, and more playoff teams is a good thing. Although this pretty much ensures that the Yankees will never miss the playoffs again for the rest of time, but it would be nice to see some fresh blood like Toronto slip in and maybe stage an upset in the playoffs.
  12. I'm betting Steve Pearce leads the team in spring HR and is the last bat cut.
  13. Awesome story! Well told! My story of becoming a Twins fan is much less interesting. I was growing up on a farm in rural South Dakota and rather bored most of the time, so I simply picked it up figuring it would be a good way to pass the time. I somewhat randomly decided to listen to the 1993 season opener on the radio (KOKK, 1210 AM Huron, SD!) and after one game was completely hooked! Of course my timing was horrendous, the start of eight years of losing.
  14. I thought KC for 2nd, so I have to go back to them for 3rd, especially given the gloomy Morneau news.
  15. I kinda think the final four teams will be separated by 5-8 games in the standings. I chose KC to finish second, probably still right at or slightly below .500. I can't imagine any of these teams giving the Tigers a real run on paper, but that's also what I thought in 2007 when they had that seemingly awesome lineup 1 through 9. If Hochevar and Sanchez have huge breakout years and the Royals get some luck with another starter, I can see them finishing second which would be huge for this franchise. Offensively the Royals seem pretty well set.
  16. Honestly Moneyball may have been my favorite yet. I was always a sucker for Angels in the Outfield as a youngster. Field of Dreams of course is a classic. The Rookie was pretty solid.
  17. Now that I live in Texas, it's absolutely worth the $140 for the full season package of majors and minors! If I still lived in Minnesota I doubt I'd be quite as excited about it. I subscribed the day it became available last week and have been watching the handful of memorable 2011 Twins games there were.
  18. I was at a Mets-Giants game last May at CitiField, and was a little disappointed overall considering the newness of the stadium. I found that we were stuck sitting in our assigned seats, no exceptions, not even to worse seats despite the fact that the stadium was less than half full! The plaza behind the center field wall is really nice with a lot of great food and stuff to do. If your game is applicable, shell out the extra money for the ticket with the hour-long all-you-can-drink pre-game session at the stadium bar! If you can drink more than 4 beers in an hour, it's totally worth your money.
