  1. But He did follow up. Torii answered the first question, Mike pushed it further. Not every video posting or article shows that Mike asked 2 questions. What annoys me is, now the Twins aren't posting the full conference like they normally do. I enjoy watching the full conferences.
  2. From Mike Berardino's statement: "Regardless, I consider the unfortunate matter closed and I look forward to covering Mr. Hunter throughout the 2015 baseball season." I agree.
  3. Do I need to point out how ludicrous to pick out a single year of statistics for one player and the career statistics for another? In choosing Hunter, I expect that his decline in statistics will level out or perhaps even increase from last year. Rasmus has had more < or = mediocre seasons that great seasons. You believe that he has a great year or years in him. I don't believe he does. You also assume he would come here. I wouldn't assume it. What we do know is Torii will and Torii is. Regardless, don't cherry pick stats.
  4. I'm here to discuss baseball, not his views or opinions. I love the move for the offense. I think sitting back and saying that the offense did well last year so it will again, is folly. A RH OF is exactly what we need, and I think Hunter is likely the best viable option. I don't understand all the Rasmus over Hunter talk. Defensively, well, we can hope that returning to his roots and being made a mentor to the younger players might renew his high effort. I'll be interested to see what Butch Davis can do with our OF. On a side note, does anyone else get the feeling that a trade is coming? I can't help but think we might be moving a young OF named Arcia.
  5. I'm curious why you say Jenkins is a top 100 guy. When I looked up Jenkins this morning, I couldn't find him in any Cardinals top 10 prospects list, those which went to 20 seemed to have him in the mid-teens or lower, which would put him far out of top 100 consideration.
  6. While perhaps not as exciting as Saunders, I think Alejandro De Aza may be a better target for the Twins this year. He had a down year so the asking price may be low; his career OPS is .730; he plays a decent LF; and he can run. He seems like a consistent, reliable guy that could help stabilize the OF till the young guys are ready.
  7. I don't see the Twins signing one of the top 3 FA SP this year and I prefer they don't sign a FA SP (barring a trade of a current SP), unless it is a 1 year make good contract. Overall, I think they need to determine what they may have in May, Meyer, and Malone. I also think that, at this point, next years crop of FA SP is more appealing. Compare these lists of what are arguably the best likely available SP this year and next: Lester Scherzer Shields Burnett Kuroda Liriano Masterson McCarthy Peavy Santana Price Samardzija Zimmermann Cueto Kennedy Latos Buehrle Chen Fister Gallardo Iwakuma Kazmir Leake Lohse Norris Porcello You could argue about which class has the best top 3, but i think it's clear that next year has a deeper class of more desirable arms. The other reason to roll with what you have now is that there may well be a number of available arms at the trade deadline if you are in the race and want to upgrade at that time.
