  1. My bad, transactions say it was today. Impending move ahead of Miranda or Lewis. Maybe Martin gets to stay a little longer, he looks better all around than Julien does.
  2. Roster additions coming up - Lewis, Miranda & Correa Roster subtractions coming up - Julien, Martin & Lee Julien and Martin sent ack down when Lewis and Miranda return, probably Friday. I think Lee will be up until Correa comes back because of his ability to play SS and he's also a switch hitter. I don't think there are roster spots for Farmer and Kirilloff unless there is another injury - use the IL for as long as necessary for both, then use Kirilloff's remaining option and let Farmer use the full 20 day rehab assignment.
  3. From Jeff Passan @ESPN: Minnesota Twins: Adding and subtracting. Money issues continue to hinder any shot at a big move, and it's why the Twins are an add-and-subtract team and not simply an add team like they ought to be. If the opportunity to acquire a higher-salary player presents itself, they would need to offload salary from their major league roster in that deal or another to cancel out the expense. With infielders Royce Lewis and Jose Miranda, plus reliever Brock Stewart, nearing returns from the injured list, the Twins' greatest deadline additions could come from within. And that's not even including shortstop Carlos Correa, who hit the IL last week after turning in his best first half since 2017.
  4. Not 15, but 12... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5656272/2024/07/24/comcast-tv-deal-12-mlb-teams/
  5. Was going to copy the link to MLBTR concerning this also. And on a subject different than the payout but as a possible baseball fix for some - I know a lot of TD posters don't want to pay for another streaming option, but it's now out there. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-network-launches-direct-to-consumer-streaming-option
  6. Don't open this bag of worms again, some people have very strong opinions about some of baseball's "unwritten" rules...
  7. Because the "advanced metrics" guys believe all outs are created equal...
  8. A 66.7 MPH grounder up the middle with an xBA of .060 against a drawn in infield is not too inspiring....but I do hope he stays hot and helps lead the team to the playoffs (he had a nice series; 5-11 3 runs and 3 RBI).
  9. Can't tell me all outs are equal. Yes it may have been a bad call that sat Wallner down, but a fly ball instead of the K would have given the team the lead...
  10. Not so much, another called strike 3....
  11. Nice recovery inning by Festa, now at 49 pitches through basically 3 innings, might get 2 more out of him.
  12. Dodged a bullet there, can't walk the bases loaded and expect to get Schwarber and Turner to strike out every time. Pitch count getting high, may end up looking like a BP game after all.
  13. That aged well.... Good job Mr. Festa (tips hat)
  14. His Uber was late?? You'll have to ask Rocco that question. But you know he's coming in to start a clean inning, not in the middle of someone's mess.
  15. He's going to have to face them at least once. Besides that, the Phillies line-up is pretty lethal top to bottom and alternate handedness all the way through the line-up. At least there's no Realmuto, at least to start the game.
  16. Festa and Stewart have arrived as reinforcements...but I don't think the Big 3 are available (Alcala, Jax & Duran).
  17. Boston is cooling off again and are facing a very difficult stretch in their schedule - NYY (3), SEA (3), @TEX (3), @KC (3),HOU (3), TEX (3, @BAL (3) & @HOU (3). They may be out of contention by August 21.
  18. Really need Correa, Lewis and Miranda back, these guys replacing them are not ready for primetime players...
  19. Not. The closer giving up 3 runs in a tie ballgame is the definition of "a painful loss"
  20. Not liking the way this inning is going....
  21. Hold 'em and walk it off in the 9th, don't like Manfred man extra innings...
  22. Was just going to suggest Jeffers for Julien.....
