    If Jenkins has to move off CF to a corner spot, is he still #1? CF is a premium, up the middle position and his being able to play there adds a lot of value to his ranking.

    The process is what gets the results. It's the teaching of the process (coaching) that yields good or poor results. Recognizing player strengths and weaknesses and maximizing strengths gets good results. The eye test and the sabermetrics should both be weighed, as neither tells the full story. This team has too many AAAA players on it because their bat speed, spin rate, exit velocity, etc... show that they should be good major league players.

    I believe Buxton has said he has never stolen 3B. That is fine in innings 1-9, but if he's the "Manfred Man" or "Ghost Runner" on 2B, I agree, he needs to steal 3B for the simple reason that he's scores on just about any ball in play.

This is purely a speculative exercise, not all players on the current roster will be here to influence these numbers, but it shows how a group of players coming through the system together and only getting arbitration raises can influence payroll.
