  1. Congrats to those players for having great months, but on the flip side, of players with 70 PA in May, Royce Lewis ranked 230/232 with a wRC+ of 14 due to a slash line of .130/.200/.203 (.403 OPS (231/232)). I think we need to see his name in the transactions log...
  2. It certainly didn't lead to much discussion about the possible repercussions of buying/selling a professional sports franchise, if that was the author's intent.
  3. But as an adult you learned that a SF counts as a PA and lowers the players OBP, SLG, and OPS, thereby lowering his OPS+, possibly costing him $$$ in contract negotiations, all for a RBI, which is now thought of as a useless stat compared to the other stats I referenced in this post...
  4. Evidently something is off in Twins land (according to several TD posters anyway), Buxton missed two flyballs BUT kept his head/eyes on the ball and hit a crooked pitch for a clutch single, driving in two much needed insurance runs...
  5. Thought the same thing about Clemens not being aware of how many outs...
  6. If there was a corresponding move to the IL they are available...just sayin'
  7. If anything, this weekend showed the extreme lack of speed off the bench for this team, at least two times a PR could have been used to help this offense late in a close game. I think with Rocco's current player usage there is absolutely a spot on this team for Kiersey, just not with a bat in his hands. Castro or Lee can play 3B with the other at 2B, and the team also has Clemens and Bride. Kiersey can PR and/or sub late for defense. Not an ideal situation having a guy for PR or defense only (other teams have done it, successfully) , but Lewis is lost and not hitting and Rocco is basically running the same guys out there every day.
  8. I can see the type of respect you are talking about in this statement. The portion of bill concerning sports franchises and its effect on sale of teams, potential new owners and fan bases could possibly be debated, but the rest of the bill should not be discussed on a forum such as this, no matter which side you agree with.
  9. Politics on a sports forum, against the forum's own rule's, interesting. Let's see how long it takes before comments get shut off...
  10. My bad, was on the road yesterday. Should have guessed with Walner being activated.
  11. Anybody else want Kiersey to run for Clemens...
  12. Maybe Zebby and Wallner will run into each other at the airport tomorrow....
  13. Bader not starting, again... The day off must not have helped his hand/finger, that's 5 days of no games, 1/2 of an IL stint already.
  14. Neither Wallner nor McCrusher are in tonight's Saints line-up, but are "available" bench options...
  15. Is those one of those articles where the author is attempting humor, because it's as funny, if not funnier, as any of those attempts....
  16. I think we will see Wallner, and Buxton, in Seattle this weekend. Coupled with Gonzalez's apparent promotion to AAA, I fear Bader may be headed to the IL with a finger injury, let's hope one more day of rest is enough. https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/twins-injuries-and-roster-moves. SWR looking good, maybe he reset himself with a little success in AAA. I think Matthews needs a good start on Friday to remain with the big club.
  17. And other ballparks....Detroit and Cleveland both win, KC ahead and batting bottom 8.
  18. While T-Mobile may favor pitchers, Seattle only has one LHP on the roster, Speier. This should work in Wallner's favor and, theoretically, sets up to be a successful return.
  19. Agreed. Lewis started this season 0-16, then 9-25, and is currently in a 0-20; great players aren't this streaky
  20. I think Bride stays on the roster until Keaschall returns, unless one of Miranda/Julien/Martin and even Gasper makes it too hard to keep them in AAA. Maybe Lewis gets a "mystery injury" and gets a 10 day IL "reset" to accommodate this also... Wallner/Buxton > McCusker/Kiersey Jr., so I don't think there is a question there. McCusker could still turn into a feel-good story...
