  1. I just can't see any scenario where the Twins deal Rogers. Doesn't make any sense.
  2. It's been widely reported for weeks now that San Diego is looking for OF help.
  3. Looks like a 70-ish win team to me. Can't see this pitching staff holding up. Hope I'm wrong.
  4. No frigging idea. Mine is in the junk drawer, still in the little protective plastic bag. That's why I said that part was very important.
  5. 1. Drive to Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Husqvarna Outlet Store, or similar establishment. 2. Purchase appropriately sized chain saw. 3. Drive home. 4. NOW THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT...read instruction manual cover to cover. Maybe read safety parts a second time. 5. Cut down tree. Avoid standing on the downwind side as you're doing this. 6. Remove plastic bag. 7. Recycle said bag. You're welcome.
  6. Ask the "haven't had a losing season since 1992" Yankees? The "one losing season since 2006, with appearances in 3 of the last 5 WS" Dodgers? Ask them? I wager the Dodgers are in the post season this year. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
  7. You want to give the FO credit for trying. In my world, you don't get extra MLB wins for trying. As a wise old man once said, there is no try.
  8. Other than being drafted 1sr overall, Lewis has done nothing to indicate he's a major league anything. Certainly not someone you open a spot for. He has a .740 career minor league OPS. A handful of AFL ABs doesn't change that. He has time to develop. But he's not looked anything like a potential plus big leaguer so far.
  9. Reverse splits are a temporary illusion. Always.
  10. Just wanted to concur with the idea there is no need for a 3rd catcher. Carrying dead weight just on the off chance you MIGHT lose a DH AB is foolish. Why are we DHing Sanchez anyway? What we REALLY need is a SECOND catcher, BTW. Actually, scratch that...we need a first catcher. Also like the idea of an Urshela/Arraez platoon. I'd also carry Rooker and sit one LH hitting OFer against most lefties. I'd imagine 14 pitchers to start the season, until the 28 man roster goes away.
  11. Deciding who is the 9th place hitter based on sprint speed seems...short sighted. Best hitters at the top of the lineup, worst hitters at the bottom. The rest is naval gazing. Want more runs? Get better hitters.
  12. It doesn't work that way. "Nr 1" vs "Nr 1" followed by "Nr 2 vs Nr 2", etc etc lasts one time through the rotation. Maybe twice through, if everything lines up perfectly. Perhaps again right after the AS break. After that, due to rain outs, differing schedules, injuries, etc etc it's random chance for the other 90 percent of the season. You're as likely to get the other guys "Nr 1" vs your "Nr 5" as "5 vs 5." Get the best starters you can. Get 5 "Nr 1's." Heck, get 8 of them, since you'll need at least 8 starters to get through most seasons, sometimes more. "He's just a number 5 starter" reminds me of "he's just fine because he'll bat 9th." Faulty logic.
  13. I look at more in terms of, a guy is a "number 5 starter" in name only. He pitches every 5th day, just like the other starters. Games he starts count as 1 W or 1 L for the team, the same as the other starters. The goal should be to have a better starter than than the other team, every day. Not some range of good to bad starters. Just good ones.
  14. Nitpic, but Carlos Correa's contract is not the largest in history for an infielder. Largest annual salary, but not the largest contract.
  15. I believe there's a federal law against misquoting Inigo Montoya. If there isn't there dang well should be.
  16. Find a way to hook it up to a 110v outlet and you'd have currant concurrent concurn't current.
  17. You want to trade him in July if the Twins are in 1st?? Do not concur.
  18. I think the relevant comparison is the current Twins vs the Twins with Correa, Donaldson, and Garver. There was no state law requiring the Twins to move Donaldson before signing Correa. And they have the money.
  19. I knew those cheap bastards wouldn't sign Story!!1!
  20. Stock your scotch roster with cheap, rookie-level brews that cost the LSM (liquor store minimum.) That way you can still field a full roster of 26 bottles, but at low cost. You won't win many taste contests, of course, but hold your nose and tell yourself it will improve as it ages.
  21. It's easy, folks, and an opportunity to show your support for TD.
