  1. Damn night games. I don't normally stay up that late.
  2. Damn day games. I don't normally get out of bed this early.
  3. It's even worse than the other night when he pinch hit Solano for Kirilloff in like the 6th. I wagered at the time you'd see Solano against a RHer next AB. I would have won the wager. I'm a huge believer in platoon advantage. But gaining the platoon advantage for 1 AB early generally makes no sense. You're just likely giving ut up later. Use your platoon pinch hitter when it matters. And when it's not likely to be neutralized (or worse) later
  4. I believe Farmer had actually entered the game in the top of the 8th. The walk off hit was his second PA of the game.
  5. There is no reason Ober should be on any type innings limit...Other than an unproven theory with little or no supporting factual evidence. Let the man pitch. He might get hurt. Pitchers get hurt all the time. If he gets hurt, he misses time, which is exactly what happens if he misses time because he was held out. He also might be just fine, and NOT miss time. A six man rotation is a poor idea, for all the logical reasons listed above.
  6. No, I think they're just reconfiguring to maximize revenue and/or better utilize space. Center field, for example, was changed from bleacher seats to the two level open areas with no seats but food options, tables and standing areas. The right field area is now seating behind a rail.
  7. According to this, currently 38,544. 39,504 when opened. Every change since then has resulted in a few less seats. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Field
  8. Those are your exact words chpettit19: "Funny that you take "eschews outdoor batting practice" to mean he doesn't need/take regular BP." BP is done outside, off a live pitcher. One more time: Buxton doesnt take BP. Cage work is something different. Artificial light, pitching machine, controlled pitches. One last time: I want the manager to manage. That includes mandatory times practicing hitting and fielding, for everyone. No exceptions. And when things aren't going well, more of the same, and/or sitting players who don't feel the need to participate fully. And I think publicly stating what he's doing, and why, is in everyone's best interests.
  9. Perhaps you're right. "Doesn't take outdoor BP" doesn't actually mean "doesn't take outdoor BP." Up is down. Right is left. Nothing can be done. "It'll turn."
  10. It's "funny" that I take "he doesn't take outdoor BP" to mean "he doesn't take outdoor BP"? I think outdoor BP has proven worthwhile for 150 years, and a guy with a lifetime .240 average, currently nudging .200 maybe ought to be told to get out there and take some BP. And yeah, id have expected to read hes been facing velocity as he comes off the IL. And Yeah, I'd expect the manager to have some interest in that.
  11. Gallo has been part of the problem since late April. That OPS has been sinking like a rock ever since. He spent some time on the IL, but he has 4 hits the entire month of June.
  12. No. I dont feel better at all. 1. Thanks for your permission to "fan" any way I wish. That's big of you. 2. As I said, Id feel better if he actually said something. "This is what we're doing." Yes, I'd feel better if he made infield and outfield mandatory for a month. If they're no better in a month, at least they tried. 3. This article is just more of the same crap. Id feel better if the article didn't tell me that Buxton HASN'T been working on the velo machine. But thats exactly what it says. He couldn't be bothered. Nor did anyone apparently try to get him to do so. Nor, apparently, does he need regular BP. I want Rocco to say something about that, and DO something about that. "Buck is sitting until he gets his timing back. I've scheduled extra early BP for him every day this week, and extra cage time. His at bats aren't competitive and we both need to work hard to fix that." Instead, we get more hand wringing. And doing nothing.
  13. I don't understand how we got to the point where 175 IP is thought to be some type of abuse. Let the man pitch.
  14. I can't speak for "the other poster" but I want him to tell me what, precisely, he's doing. "It'll turn" isn't an acceptable strategy to me. It hasn't turned since at least 2021. "We've thrown to the wrong base too many times, so I'm holding a mandatory 'situational baseball' workout every afternoon for the next week. We're going to get better at that, or we'll keep the workouts going." That's a strategy. But that ain't happening. No. We get "it'll turn. They're adults, they can decide whether practicing is worth their time. What can we do?"
  15. Are they? What are they doing, exactly? Have they decided the "batting practice, take it or leave it" approach maybe isn't a good idea? Emphasized cutting down swings on some situations,.particularly with 2 strikes and runners on? Stop taking strike 1 so damn often? Has there been ANY appreciable change for the better? Or do we see double digit Ks just pile up, night after night? I don't really think they're doing ANYthing. But so what if they are? Has it made ANY difference? Results matter.
  16. Lewis isn't going to play SS. For one thing, Correa is a really good defensive SS, besides which the Twins didn't give him $200m not to play short. For another, Lewis isn't ever going to be good enough defensively to play short full time.
  17. To dx's point, though, Rosario is hitting .265/.305/.511. He actually DOES hit some of what he swings at.
  18. FTR, the game wasn't 9-3 when Moran entered. It was 3-3. With 2 out. He walked Refsnyder, then gave up a 3 run triple to a LH hitter. On an 0-2 count. So yeah, I'd say pitching decisions were impactful.
  19. On another note, I'm not sure the Twins can continue to play Julien. Just absolutely brutal defensively.
  20. Who? We don't have enough relievers that can consistently get through ONE inning. In any case, unless you're advocating for new management, top to bottom, it ain't happening. They've had half a decade to demonstrate some other bullpen system, but they're tied to a short relief system. Like pretty much all baseball.
